    Underoos and Friends - August

    Good morning all folk.

I have now replaced my alcohol addiction with an addiction to the chook forum. I'm mainlining it actually ( me and my clean liver that is)

Now viz e viz yesterday's medical check, one little issue DID come up, namely the blood pressure.
The heat is on, the glove has been thrown down by my lovely new lady doctor up here.

I MUST lose weight. Good bye suspension Bridge.

I wonder if The Circulation Booster can help ?
No more cankles for me ????

I tell youz what, some of our newbs are doing VERY well with the AF-dom.....go guys.....
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Hm. Chucked a wobbly, spat the dummy and now cracked the darks. After 10+ years of drought I get flooded today. Yes, fusking flooded. I don't live anywhere near a waterway. This was all stuff from the sky. Water pissing through the Froghouse. Spent hours sucking the stuff up and now it's stopped raining but the wind is disfuskinggusting. Not even going to go and check for damage. not even looking out the window, have headphones firmly clamped over lugholes listening to calming classical stuff. An old farmer once told me that fierce wind drives horses and women crazy and how bloody right he was.

I will check back later when I've found a positive to today's bloody adventures. Might take a while...

Shouldn't have made a joke about the Ark forum ...

              Hello Underoos.

Just saw your post Tawny. That sounds horrid. Hell of a thing to have to deal with. Hope you get your house dried out okay. I was wondering about the girls, Bridge and Missy. Have you got them inside with you?

Bugger Tawny thats a serious bummer. Sounds like you are doing the right thing, no point in going near it till mother nature is finished the bombardment.

oh shoot. Shouldn't have made my "you need rain" comment either. Not when it just runs off the soil after a long drought.

Headphones a good idea for now. You cant do anything the morning.

Wishing you a good nights sleep for tonight Tawny. :l

OK guys - it's now dark and I went back out with torch and thank dog the girls came back and are in their flat, now safely locked up. The cats are huddled around the fire - so my animals are ok.

I don't think I'm prone to general histrionics but I have to tell you, the heart-rate's up and I'm a ... erm ... tad nervous. Headphones back on and I'll trust Mother Nature to do as she will. We seem to have an amicable co-existential arrangement.

If I said the thought of having four huge brandys hadn't crossed my mind, I'd be lying.

                      Thanks guys.

Breathing Tawny, slow, deep breathing. Try 10 or more at your own pace. This will calm the body, not necessarily the mind, but with body a little more settled, the mind can follow. Hope you've got dry wood for the fire.

TF - is there a need to be in contact with Civil Defence or emergency services? Just as a check in? Any danger of flash flooding?

Dont know about you T but after four brandies I wouldnt be much use to man nor beast in an emergency and probably a danger to myself if I tried. So not a good idea.

Thanks, G. Doing the breathing thing and it does work. I tried watching mindless TV but I could still hear the gale so it's back to the headphones and ABC FM. Pissy little piano sonata but it'll have to do.

Missy - no chance of flash flooding - this is just an over-abundance of stuff from the sky but in all my time here I've never seen it before and the whole place is reacting in an unusual manner. I honestly don't want to sound hysterical. I've contacted a mate who'll help me out if the shit hits the fan but I really think it'll all be ok. I just have to be patient and wait ...

KTAB - don't worry - I said it was a thought. If my roof blows off I intend to be aware and ready.
