Grateful - I agree with you re the caring that we all have on this site considering we haven't met and haven't known each other long (some of us). I was telling my neighbour about maybe going to Rube's cabin - he was absolutely aghast! he said "YOU MIGHT BE GOING TO A CABIN IN THE WOODS OF SOMEONE YOU MET ON-LINE?" But without going into detail - well, there is no way that I could explain it to him. When he put it like that - it did sound rather odd though.....if my daughter said that to me - well, it would be a cold day in hell before I would allow her to do that. Even though she is 23. (24?)

Ruby 40 years WOW time to put the little things behnd you and rejoice in what you have been able to do. I don't think many people can say what you and you hubs have done. It takes a lot of giving and takeing to stay together for 40 years. Enjoy your day not time to argue. hAPPY 40th Ruby!

Big gardening day for me. I cleared out a section of the summer crop and will be planting collards, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, swiss chard and spinach. I need to dig in some perlite and some manure before I do it.

The &*^(% squash bugs got my squash plants. Any suggestions (or than Sevin) on how to control them? I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns.

I was just trying to say that I understood where grateful was coming from saying that outsiders could never understand the type of relationship that we all have on here. HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY DAY!!! We just got back from church and I had a very inspiring time, even though Paul said people were looking at me and whispering because I hold my hands up during the praise music to worship my Lord. I go to church to woship God, not impress other people. I did request a visit from the pastor, just to find out what is and is not allowed at that church and hopefully get the opportunity to gve my testimony to the church or the youth group about how God delivered me from drugs!
Again, Happy Anniversary, Ruby! Hope you are having a good day. Roger, I am so sorry you and Sue both are struggling and I am praying for ya'll. Please keep us informed. I hope our wonderful leader is feeling more upbeat today. Sunshine, we all understand what you meant. My 23 year old daughter had a fit when I invited Roger and his family down because I knew him from the internet! No one really understands, but what does it matter? Grateful, how is your infection? Are the antibiotics working? I hope you will take some me time and PLEASE rest when Addison goes home. I am still waiting on that phone call at your convenience. Phoexix, we use malathion to kill bugs in the garden and it really works! It's almost time for us to plant kale and black-eye peas, but my okra is putting out 5 gallons a day and we still have peppers galore and tons of those yellow meat watermelons, Rog! In fact, I will be putting up okra all day, so better get started. Looks like Paul has a date with his recliner again. He's already put on very old movie to watch! Had a very nice day, so far. Went out for breakfast, and I'm still full! Then I used my gift card at Cracker Barrell and got 5 books on tape for and a big, beautiful candle for less than 12 dollars! I LOVE a bargain. Next stop was the Barnes and Noble, where we bought 5 books (one for son & hair :H for Christmas), and we sat in the little cafe. Hubs had a latte and I had a iced chai tazo. On to Belks, which was having a huge one-day sale, and I bought a long sundress, short sundress, and 3 cute tops. Then to Target to get some new phones (we had a 3 extension phone and they all died at the same time!) and a few other necessaries. Next to Publix where we picked up some beautiful ribeyes and the fixins' for dinner, then to the DQ, (site of our first date) and had banana blizzards. Finally home, and wiped out!! I totally hate shopping, but Hubs insisted I buy things for myself, and I was happy about the sales I found; all the clothes were 70% off. I haven't shopped for clothes for me in ages!! Would hate for you guys to see the rags I've been wearing! :H
Sun, I understand what you were saying about explaining to other people about our relationships. The first time I met T, he and Anthony came to the cabin and I was there alone with them. I got some weird questions from family, and everytime T calls and Hubs answers, he says, "It's your boyfriend!!" :H I don't know anyone else in the world I would have done that with.

Rubes, I am so pleased that you had a great day - and that you went to Barnes and Noble - isn't the BESTEST book shop in the entire world - the staff are fantastic, the selection is wonderful, the atmosphere can't be beat - I mean, it is just a wonderful wonderful place!!! I can't think of anywhere else that I would rather go - please spread the word about how wonderful it is - thank you!!

Yes, it was a fun day, (tho I detest crowds and have turned into a real hermit!). Hubs told me he wants me to get out more, told me I should join the gym and make myself go a couple of times a week, maybe get a personal trainer, then go shopping, browse thru B & N, like a normal woman does! :H I know it's hard for you guys to believe a woman without the shopping gene exists, but I do. So, like making myself eat regularly, I shall make myself get out in the world. We both marvelled over where all the people have come from, since we remember the town of our childhood. I even remember when the streets were brick! (dang we're old!!)
Rog, hope you're having a better day, love. Hubs and I have been talking about your troubles, and he agreed with my advice to you about doing only what you can and feel comfortable doing. I've seen so many men who lived their lives selfishly, like your father, only to have no where to go, no one to care, when they face their ends. That's the way my Daddy's dad was, as I said, but we were able financially to take care of him. He was a mean, selfish old goat, and that's the nicest way I can put it. You have enough on your plate right now, and should have no qualms about looking after YOUR LOVED ONES first. Hug Sue for me, and tell the boys 'Hi'.

yep ruby and thats what im doing .. taking care of my kids if they need it and need me im here .. she is feeling better right now and well im still going to make sure she see the doc tomorrow .. something needs to be done ... i feel bad at time just doing drive by's for her and not waiting there with her .. but going to all these doc's for this and that and nothing really changing with her and at time seems worst .. but anyway thinking positive .. and im finding out alot from the bostonwhaler site .. lots of helpful folks and well just having a great relaxing day here .. im so glad you had a greAT DAY AND CANT WAIT TO HEAR HOW THE NIGHT GOING TO GO FOR YOU ...
