Yes, I've been waxing nostaligic today, doing lots of thinking, research. No worries, friends. But I'm at a point I'm tired of all the BS. Ready to really live, a real life. I spend most of my time keeping up, undoing and redoing, and it's really not how I want to live any more. Hubs is afraid, I think. Don't think we should live just hoping, but really planning where we want to go.
Please don't worry about me. Just had a strange day. And I'll keep doing what I do, but less of the tedious stuff, more of the real stuff of life. I've really realized I'm free of my major shackles, and it's time to move on to what I want from life. I've seen so many of you doing this, without all my drama! :H, and I'm proud of you.
Anyway, I've been up way to long. Will check a few on chat, then off to get, HOPEFULLY, a good night's sleep. Much to do this week, but I need to be rested and not crazy before I do it.

Had a good night's sleep, the usual wild and crazy dreams. But some blessed rest.
FIL came through everything with flying colors, grouching and moaning all the way. All he had on his mind was when he ate next. We'll get the results of the tests soon. Thank you for your prayers for the old buzzard!:H
There are quite a few regulars on this site who are really suffering right now. I stick mostly here, but keep up with the others. Please remember to check in with someone you are missing here. We all know how nice it is to get a personal message when we're feeling down.
I'm so far behind in my house, my work, and my yard, I'm struggling to know where to start. But I'll look at this like drinking; one thing at a time.

Hi all,
That is some post Rubes. It is hard to get through those urges without thinjking they will never end. It seems like sometimes I think about drinking for hours and hours and just laying around waiting for it to be over with wondering what time it is and how long till bedtime so I will be safe while I am asleep? I quit smoking when I was 25 and it was just this horrible screaming thing going on in my head but it did taper off after a couple weeks and I never think about it anymore or have any desire to smoke but booze isnt like that and even got 6 months af once and still thought about it alot most everyday and my mom quit for 13 years and got back on, that scares me and makes me wonder if I will ever be free of it like I am the smokes......anyway....TOUGHINTEXAS where ya been girl and please hang out with us I think about you and the ol gang. Vick be well. Sun glad about the break and the driving that is good.And MB that bac must be hell.IAD thats so funny. Everyone hi. I gotta go for physical such fun....later

Bird, Biz, glad you read that long post of mine. It's hard for me to take a lot of time and read a long article, but this one spoke to me. I keep a copy of the SOBER definition by my computer, to read when I need support, and to give others. Funny how acronyms are easier to remember, and help.

I am so touched that everyone is so worried about me. I feel MUCH better and I have not stopped the bac, just tapered down a little bit. Seems like life is kickin all our asses right now, but at least we are in it together. Nana and Pop are paying for #1 son's transmission...so that helps.

Had some cravings last night but didn't cave. Hubby leaves tomorrow till Sunday and that is when my challenge will start.

Do the cravings go away after 30 days? I heard that someplace.

It DOES get easier, because our brain changes channels a bit, and we are sober enough to think about what we have to lose.

Oh my goodness - some powerful stuff going on here! You are all such wonderful folk! The support and love I feel from you all is awesome and just makes me feel SOOOO good this morning.

Ruby - I laughed at the safety Director title!! Joking apart - you have been doing some serious thinking. That is a huge step forward. I have been doing some bad thinking - nearly a step backwards! PR - day 11 - wonderful - stay with us. It is hard but we are here to support. Biz - how are the cravings and how are you doing? T - absolutely loved the piece that you posted......between you and Ruby, you have really got me doing some serious thinking this morning. TiT - hang in there, we are here to help in any way we can. Life can throw you some hard punches but as Epictetus said (and apologies for anyone who has already heard this), you cannot control what life throws at you, but you can control the way that you react to it. MB - hugs to you, things will improve - they have to right?? Bird - cravings are awful - I had the baddest one last night. Did all sorts of thinking......but they have gone away today and it is a new day. I quit smoking too and even now love to stand downwind of someone just lighting up. LOL But would never DARE to pick one up or I would be right back at square one.

Hope that Grateful and Goldie are doing well - I will be around today - am off work til Monday. I tried driving yesterday evening and it is okay! Yeh!!!! The doc said that he wouldn't tell me I could and he wouldn't tell me I couldn't!! The airboot makes my foot hurt. The splint didn't. Go figure eh?
