Yes Grateful - I am off on Tuesdays usually. Right now I am waiting for the carpet people to come and install carpet in what used to be my youngest' bedroom, which is now going to be my meditation/yoga room - I have painted/cleaned and am just SO excited!!

Man shot in head, but notices only 5 years later

BERLIN (AP) — Police say a man living in Germany was shot in the back of his head, but that it took him five years to realize it. Police said Tuesday that the 35-year-old man was hit by a .22-caliber bullet in the western town of Herne as he was out in the street partying and drunk on New Year's Eve five years ago.

They say the man recalled receiving a blow to the head, but told them he didn't seek medical assistance at the time.

The bullet did not penetrate the skull, and police say the Polish man only went to see a doctor recently when he felt a lump on the back of his head. An X-ray showed an object under his skin, and doctors operated and found the projectile.

Police say it may have been a stray bullet fired by a reveler in celebration.

Jeff Foxworth says if you're too drunk to fish, you might be a redneck. But I think if you're shot in the head, and you don't notice it, you're drunk AND a redneck. :H

I went to sleep at night, after cutting two 5 pound buckets of okra and I slept until 10 this morning! I'm putting up okra today. Wish I could share some fresh okra with you all! I have a dishwasher there (no, it's NOT me!!)
Someone posted a 'Ruby' song on another thread, and I thought it was a cute idea. Glad ya'll like your songs, hoped I was finding things that suited ya'll. But Rog in tights may make me gay! :H
I'm hoping to get some of my Brunswick stew made befor the meet, and if so, I'll bring a big ole' Boston Butt and smoke it all day to make some barbeque. I also need to make some more of my BBQ sauce, the vinegar type. I had lots of it, but my SIL loves it (I secretly think he drinks it straight!) and he took my last jar. I have a breadmaker there, so we'll have homemade bread (really easy) and biscuits and gravy, of course.
I'm working on my strawberry fig jam right now. It's really killer. And maybe we WILL make homemade ice cream. I love plain old Vanilla, but open to suggestions. Plus, grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, my bean soup and cornbread.............mmm, we'll be fine. Maybe I'll make some Mississippi Mud brownies. Luke sure fell in love with them, and they're so easy.
All this food talk reminds me I need to eat. Spent all day poking food at Mads, none for me, but I'm making a really good dinner, and I'll eat then. BBQ flavored pork tenderloin, fresh squash and onions, fried cabbage, BE peas, cornbread, and Oreo refrigerator cheesecake. I'm full just planning it!!
Hopefully, I'll be able to make some of my pear relish (chow chow, sort of) before October. I don't think anyone will starve, and disposable dinnerware WILL help. Don't worry about what you bring. Anything, or nothing, is fine. I can always go out with Berit and kill a bear. :H
Did I mention we don't have indoor plumbing????
