Welcome to MWO. So happy you've made the decision to deal with the alcohol head on. I know for myself, my abuse at times made me feel mummified. While I am making considerable progress at 82 days AF, there are days I feel as if I'm still in the wrappings. I wish you nothing less than total success and happiness. Burn the keyboard with musings. Engage your journal, tell your story. I look forward to getting to know you better.
BTW, I think it's time you come clean about the construction of the great pyramid at Giza. Ancient astronauts or unionized slave labor? Pray tell, Tut, we'll keep it here in the MWO family! Hetep...John

Hi everyone
I'd got some fantastic beef burgers for tea last night. But they were just burgers. So I decided to make a "Beef Burger Wellington". So, I toodled off to the supermarket and got some filo pastry and liver pate. I made some spicy mushrooms and concocted a luscious tower. Only it needed a glass of wine. I don't remember much more after that.
I hate second guessing my evening by tentatively checking my texts from last night. Deary me.
I can't wait for my baclofen to come.

Dinner sounded good until you mentioned the wine!
I actually made quite a plan before I finally stopped and in the last few weeks while I was still drinking I stopped enjoying it completely (but of course that didnt stop me drinking!). It was like saying my final goodbyes to an old friend who I could no longer afford to have in my life if I wanted to live. In the end I was sick to death of it, I'd already commited to my quit date and it couldnt come quick enough.
I do think this period of time was invaluable to my sucess so far as the spontaneous "never agains" when I woke up with a massive hangover never worked. This was planned and calculated and as a result on the day I quit I was totally euphoric. Maybe you can see this time before your bac arrives as the "farewell stage" and it might help your resolve.

I find that I just can't go to the grocery store after work or I'll buy a bottle of wine. I do all my shopping before work or at lunch or weekend mornings. That has saved a couple of drinkfests for me, doing it that way. The Bac will help but you still gotta wanna...Go before that fire there, at the altar of your heart

So, my day .... I need a new cornea. I'm already on my second cornea on my right eye. Greedy sod that I am. That has now worn out. Got a mega fab kebab for my tea. I can feel burned bum coming on.
Got half a bottle of wine, and will fail at not drinking it.

Who did you order your bac with, When I tried it I used goldpharma and they were here in the uk in a week to 10 days!!!
