Yep I've eaten steak tartare in gay Paris. And yes it was puke worthy even with gallon of Chateau Neuf de Poop I had with it.
yep JC thats excatly the pain I was trying to descibe before..
just like a continual labour that doesn't stop for a bit..I never ever knew something could hurt this bad and there's nothing that can be done just painkillers..
not even a position to lie..nothing..
but what pissed me off was the lack of information of what it was, what causes it, how long will it last, how dangerous is it, what can I do to ease the pain..
      fucking spain...Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

No sniggering at the back, but the GP advised me to get on all fours and rock gently backwards and forwards. It actually helped at times.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

he said it is a lumbar sciatica and possibly a herniated one..
he sent me for an MRI..
but get this..it will be in about 6 to 8 months time..
and my appt to see him with the results is next april...!!2011

have got some new painkillers opiad base..I don't care about the concern with taking them, if they work even just a little bit am gonna take them like smarties..

got a new appt with my doc on tuesday an gonna ask her if she can send me urgent to the specialist again, then he will send me urgent for the MRI...so should get it in 6 weeks time..
I can't afford to go private but that is really the best thing I should do...
Jan, sorry for taking some time getting back to this but I wanted to google a few things to get the facts straight. Sounds like you've got something very serious aside from it being very painful and hopefully you can get your doctor to pull a few strings and get you into the specialist before next April. Shit. Worse than Canada. Here you can get an appt. with a specialist within a week.
Am wondering about the opiate based painkillers. Not a great idea as far as I'm concerned. They may help with the pain but what about the addictive factor....

Nope just an 18 month old toddler who looked at me as if I'd gone bonkers. If Mr JC had come near me I'd have bitten his emmmm hand off.

                will try anything..
no worries about getting hooked on the tabs..I understand the risk about addiction with them, so I will be sensible, just need something to help stop the pain..
                not looking for a "high"
was taking them last year when I was detoxing and my legs were like ballons. I even asked my doc to prescribe something else once the pain was sort of under control

so no, I wont get hooked..

Tips - this is mainly for you. I told Jackie about it yesterday. Don't want to lessen the seriousness of Jan's problem, but just wanted to share it...

                  How much fun is this?
Younger son has a ton of friends and some of them are from families with no economic problems whatsoever even in these difficult times. A girl he knows - Greek lass - works and lives in Paris. She has been here on vacation and is going back to Paris after a brief stop in Italy. But she has a big problem. She got a new BMW Z4 while she was here (poor thing) and doesn't want to drive by herself or with a girlfriend back to Paris. Understandable, IMO, she could get car-jacked at any point while driving. So she asked younger son if he would drive the car for her. So he's off on an adventure. Yesterday he drove to a friend's place in Patra and left by boat from there this afternoon, arriving early tomorrow afternoon in Ancona Italy. He'll drive from there to Milano to meet the girl and they will stay there tomorrow night. Then they'll continue on Monday morning, driving through Monaco and along the Cote D'Azur before swinging north to Paris. Then he'll spend a couple of days in Paris and fly home. He pays for all his personal expenses, food, etc. on the trip but the girl who owns the car is footing the bill for all the rest, ferry boat ticket, gas, etc and of course the airplane ticket back to Greece. I'm so excited. Wish I could be a little mouse on his shoulder. I love it when things like this happen.

I'm so sorry, for all. For all the world watching, bitching, opinions, going that long here would be insane. I know some people are left out, I know some people don't get what they need here. Both my parents died from things that could have been prevented. But they were treated early, fairly, and painlessly. The loss is the same, but DANG! Why do you have to wait when you're suffering?
Jan, you know how much respect I have for you. I'm suffering just thinking of what you're going through, after your fantastic struggle. You're in my prayers. And you have walked miles, darling. Miles.
I pray for your recovery. YES, I'm spirtual. And you're in my thoughts always. You're a hero here.

Yes, Jan. I know you will be careful. It's just that pain can drive us totally bonkers. Outer space. My poor Dad was in such pain during the last year of his life that he was on morphine patches everyday and then during the last 20+ days on a morphine drip. At least he went without pain. It can just cripple you both physically and psychologically. Like you said, labour pain that doesn't stop and you don't even get a cute little bundle to hug and kiss after all the pain. Like a huge toothache in yer leg that won't go away. Shit, I can't even imagine something like that...hope the pills help.:l

Not idyllic Tips. It fecking rocks!!! And in a Z4 to boot. (which BTW, I really don't like that much, prefer the Z3) I've actually done part of the route. Outside of Paris to Nice, Monaco and then Italy. Rome, Naples, then to Brindisi and to Greece. Twenty years old and ready for anything. That rocked!!!

                              Hey Guys,

Going fora bath and will chack in a bit later. Rob is on Day 6 and his friends has rang him, inviting him to meet a few of the gang in the pub. Won says he defo won't drink but I am very woried about this, I told him to stay home as I think it is too early to be putting himself in that environment, especially with a goup of guys who are heavy drinkers and will prob try to persuede him to give it.

                              He won't not go.

                              We shall see.
