Thank-you all so much. My many friends here are why I can say "I AM ONE WHOLE YEAR TODAY". For the newer members that don't know my story I want to share some here. I came here after I lost my fiance' in a car accident in 2006 and being drunk a solid year. March 2007 is when I first said "my God I am dying". I had totaled a couple of cars, hurt myself, and consuming about 2 bottles of wine a night and the weekends ..I have no idea I drank a ton. I fell several time and then started a thread called the 30 day thread and on there a group of us shared daily our journey. We were all honest with each other. I slipped some at the beginning and then my Mom got sick and I HAD to be sober to care for her. So, I was sober 8 months. But, when she died in 2008 I fell again. When I fall it is not a 2-3 glass fall it is more like a week long binge. I had a 3 binge year from 2008-2009. In July I was reunited with my Dad and my little sister and 2 younger brothers. (one brother he and I share like parents) We talk every single day via text. Relationships with family that I had been cut off from for years we finally awakened. It was a major positive. I came home and in August I had one of the worst binges ever. To binge after several months sober, truly wrecks havioc on your body. I was so sick I was crawling down the hall to vomit in the bathroom. My Dad, who I had been reunited with came mid-August and many, many life changes came about due to that visit. Childhood wounds that I thought were gone had resurfaced since my Mom's death and reuniting with my family. I had to face those and move on. I have had a AF free year. August 14th 2009-2010. I had support here, I had family help, and I had spiritual help. My wish for all of you still struggling is never give up. It hasn't beat you until you stop fighting. I by no means think I am "cured". I still take it one day at a time too.
