I make all my own bread, etc, so I kept getting meal flies. Now, I put a bay leaf in every bag/package I open, and NO MORE!
Ants also don't like chalk.
I put fresh ground cinnamon in all of my drawers at the cabin since we're not there a lot. Works great, but visitors think it's some kind of crud when they open them!!sigpic

Yes, English is my second language... I came here at age 22
And, no, I have no desire to go back. It may sound corny, but in Canada (especially out here in the woods) there is a type of freedom that isn't easy to find elsewhere. As long as you don't do anything radical, you are left alone and can do pretty much as you please. And that's just how I like it.
And.. also a bit cliche... but the people here ARE a whole lot friendlier than in Germany. As a whole, I mean. I know many lovely Germans.. but as a 'people'... ick.
