why is it, that when i think 'a treat would be nice'
beer is the instant fleeting thought?
then when im cranky or de-motervated by others(you know how you are) 'why not a beer, that would show em'....
                fleeting but still happening.

I'm a new "undie" and would like to get to know more MWO undies. I've been here just one week but have a new "spirit" of hope and belief in myself already from reading the comments of others here. One question intrigues me though and I haven't seen any reference to it so far. Can anyone please tell me, how many of us on this site have ADHD? I've just been diagnosed as a mature adult and wonder how much my ADHD has contributed to my drinking issues. I'm an intelligent, creative, articulate and funny woman who turned my life into a "mishmash" of experiences (mostly horrible) and disasters through abusive drinking. I have clawed my way back from the brink, but recognise that the still occassional binges are indicative that the monster lives on in my genes, ready to pounce when I least expect it. Is this a common theme? This is the first time I have reached out to anyone for help and it has been so cathartic. It's exhausting doing it all on my own. Thanks everyone and I look forward to any advice or input you may have. Best wishes and woot, woot, Spring has sprung...a time of rebirth and growth. I'm down for it!!!!

                      Everybodee....everyboddee......
                      We have a new undy:welcome:
Really glad you turned up Mish Mash...whatever it is that you want to acheive, you have a much better chance of making it with the help we can give each other here.
About the ADD....there is a HUGE incidence of ADD/ADHD in my family, and I reckon I've got it too, not diagnosed though.....How did you obtain your diagnosis, if it's OK to ask ?
I am sure it has affected itself in the form of self medicating (chuck in some social phobia and a shiteload of anxiety, shake it all up and you have a Vodka and tonic.)
Have a good look around the site Mish, and check in often, especially at this stage. It really helps you stay on track.

Woo-hoo - a new Undie and a sandgroper one at that! Welcome Mish. Can't help with mature ADHD, sorry. As you familiarise yourself wth this site, you'll notice theare are many intelligent, creative, articulate and funny women here but I always wonder ... if we're so bloody smart, how come we got ourselves into this mess? Another really good thread is https://www.mywayout.org/community/f1...nge-44341.html. I think in the early days it's good to align yourself with a particular challenge or group of people for accountability's sake. Look forward to getting to know you here among the Undies.

Aspy - the good thing about "those" thoughts is ... they're only thoughts. You're getting too close to your one year mark to blow it now.

So - me three loverly tree fellers have been and gone. Great job and I'll deffo give them another gig later in the year.

                              :hallo: Undies and :welcome: Mish.

I was diagnosed with adult ADD. You're welcome to PM me. The best person to speak to is Dancelot, though - she knows way more than me about it and will be glad to guide you. There is a forum similar to this one (but they're no fun) - it uses the same forum technology. ADD Forums (it will open in a new window. And no, I'm not really an undercover spammer posing as Tip).
                              I'll do whatever it takes
