Yep, I be thinking of the wee Froglet tonight.. I shall be hoping she is not on any river flats. I was going to post a story I was thrilled about the wetlands down in Vic going so great lately.. but thought better of it tonight after the news eh!

Wellllll.. nope.. the life of a nun is prolly my lot till the kids grow a bit more.. tis important the peace & stability. BUT, loads of lovely folk out there and LOVE my work! A fella would only be jealous. There's barely enough of me to go round as it is! Besides, discovering meself again will take a little time. Am looking forward to having dinner parties come spring and going on a holiday soon as can afford it with the kidlets. Am even dreaming of a CRUISE!! Gosh my mind boggles with the possibilities. Betta get my tax return happening quick!

Been trying to figure what is more important in a kid's life.. a nice house (spend on renovations)... a stable home (put all spare $ on mortgage)... or a holiday (spend some $ on a proper vacation and/or travel)???

I figure that I don't have them all that much longer. Maybe a holiday is right up there as 'quality time'... I'm thinking - what will they think back and remember from their childhood? Grumpy overworked me? Crappy house? Or will they remember beautiful neighbours and friends and wonderful holidays???

Think I answered my own question. My money worries should not be theirs. Bring on the holidays!!!

Well, well, well ... we live in interesting times.

Woke up during the night to find water flowing under my bed. Nothing I could do about it. Went back to sleep. Got up at 5. Dangling doona soaked, rugs squelching, the whole joint's flooded. Sweet FA I can do about it until it gets light.

Good things: It's quite warm. I can sit in bare feet and splash a little. There was no storm and no wind. The power didn't go off so I can drink coffee. MWO fixed the site problem so I could watch last night's clips. Thanks Reggie and Ficks.

It's still bucketing down. The romantic notion of rain on a tin roof is somewhat over-rated, methinks. Stay tuned. As day breaks I shall sally forth and with the firsts rays of light venture outside to check out the whole shiteree.

                      Yours sincerely,
A Frog, who is trying very hard to be happy about this.

Oh Froglet I wish you the best. I had double lined my little boat last night in anticipation of the worst. The storm Earl was scared off by me I think. I hope you endure. I just HATE flooding. I lived on a barrier island for years so floods were a constant companion. Much Love Techie :h

Far out Tawn, wheres the water getting in...from the roof or seepage????? Do you live on river flats? Are there emergency services near by? Hope you are o.k. Its raining like crazy here too, but we are designed for it, so no flood issues. Keep us up to date..buggeration:upset::upset:

Thanks guys. Saff, it's all a bit hard to explain but basically the ground can't absorb any more water. I'm not connected to storm water drains so the stuff just builds up and builds up. The dam has now expanded to within about 10m of the Froghouse and there are ducks where only chooks have previously roamed; the tanks are full and overflowing and in all my years here I've ever experienced it before. However, it is NOT scary and if I'm even vaguely thinking about having a whinge I'll just remind myself of one word: Pakistan.

                            Back to the moppage.

Your OK! That's all we care about Froglet! I know when I loved in AZ the ground was just another runnel for the rains. Thinking of you!

                                Gosh Tawns,
Am thinking of you! Good luck with the moppage and jeez I hope your dam has some kinda over flow so it does not reach your beautiful house!

Soft gentle rain here all night and today... just steady.. even my place has a tiny river flowing through it.. enough to wash away some topsoil.

I've got family in Vic on really old properties on riverflats built back in the days when floods were often. Their houses are built on the highest ground because they are so old but they have not seen this in many, many years.
