Night all in wunderundieland of the most wonderful of wunderfulest undie folks:h Just got home from night two of a two night six hour gig. Exhausted but bloody pleased with meself...but not so pleased that I have got to celebrate with a drink....like I used to in days gone by....drink to celebrate...drink to commiserate....drink to bloody everythingerate:H:H:H what a eeddjjiitt. Tell you what folks this sugar free low GI, keep the caffeine down gig works a treat too. Keeps the moods in check and emotions much calmer. I think I will stick this one out, its definately making a huge impact on my sanity levels and zero cravings for the demon drink. Maybe we could start a low G.I. thread for those of us who see merit in this way of controlling the old BGL.

There are several reports in the media today about how the whole Chch population is getting seriously psychologically stressed ..... domestic violence incidents up 53% in a week, lots of quite traumatised kids etc etc

However, I've been talking to a few people down there who say that the amount of community support is incredible and that Civil Defence arrangements and local councils have been incredibly well organised. I still think its amazing that there have only been 2 serious injuries and 1 death (and that was from a heart attack)

I'm feeling a bit freaked out myself ....... Wellington is suppose to be overdue for "the big one". We're all making sure our emergency kits are up-to-date!!

It must be such a shock to everyone. And i heard Chch wasn't considered an earthquake zone?
Anyway, stay positive, and being as prepared as possible is something you can do at least.

No - Chch is the last place an earthquake was expected. The major fault lines cross through Wellington from central/east North Island and through to the West Coast of the South Island. Chch is on the east coast of the South Island and generally seen to be quite stable. I've got English friends who went to live there precisely because they wanted to live somewhere in NZ that was at low risk of earthquakes!!

Morning all...feeling a bit emotional about the situation in Chch. Haven't been able to get onto the outlaws but I'm guessing it's just power fail...they're on the East Coast.
