oh feck off lady jan, i have a sister in law living in santa cruz and she is complaining that in winter it gets really cold, like 17 degrees, THATS OUR SUMMER!!!!!

... so I had trouble getting a tablet into Wong. Went to the shops and bought some posh cat food. "Fancy Feast Sensations. Tuscan Chef Inspired. Tender Turkey Accented with Long Grain Rice". What a wonk. He turned his nose up at that little plating. Further research was needed.

Google is my friend. I report that I successfully ground up the pill, mixed it into the secret ingredient and smeared it on his paw which he then licked clean. Job's right. The secret ingredient? Techie's all-American Cream Cheese! See? It IS good for something ...

I tried the fancy cat food stuff too, but Betty just licks off the gravy and leaves the rest (which I have to say looks just like processed plastic)

The paw trick is a good one which I hadn't heard of. We've been doing the much more brutal "immobilisation by grabbing the scruff of the neck" one and then holding jaw closed until she swallows. After months of various pills she is sort of used to it by now and doesn't seem to hold any grudges ........

Thanks to all who ask after Betty!! Yes, she is now a tri-pod. Over the last 4 months she has survived broncho-pneumonia, a broken pelvis and an amputation and is now considering how best to use up her remaining lives.

Mr B's son is with us for the school holidays ....... having argued for this to happen for 3 years it is a great delight. Off to play Scrabble....... :H

Brrrrrrrrrr that's right Draggy, it gets even colder up there..just looked on the thermometer on my balcony, and it a cool 24 6 degs...Brrr, AND it's 5:30 in the morning, gonna make a hot cocao try an warm up.
Had to half close the bedroom window last night and tuck Ollie up with the quilt..

Hello again, A quick update as Mr Rags is checking us out and we go back to Zambia. We both got a nasty tummy bug so haven't sampled the fine cuisine here. No need to elaborate further. Went for a walk round the falls yesterday, then came back and hibernated in our room... if yer gonna be ill, be ill in a good hotel! Couple of days ago we went for sunset boat cruise on the mighty Zambezi river. It must be bloody spectacular in flood time! Tomorrow we go for a dawn walk with lions being rehabilitated for release back into the wild. Then we are off on the Intrepid truck to Okavango delta and all points south toJ'burgh.
Tawn: Cats can detect ground up medicine in anything, no matter how well you grind it up!

Bridge: There are signs up at Vic Falls about a weed eradication programme for Lantana camira! :H

Got to go now, nature calls. And then I got to go through 2 border checks and make it back to Livingstone without a toily break!

What an adventure, although a bit of a worry bout the gastro stuff uuurrggghh. Yep I agree, If you gonna get crook, do it in a good hotel. I remember drinking the local brew in Bali (out of a plastic bag, tied at the end) and spending three whole days holed up in the hotel....of the horror of it. Cant wait to see all the photos. x
