Hallo everyone - I am in from work and finally am getting to get on the computer and check in with my other family!

MB - you are SO pretty!! Your sons are certainly big babies! LOL. How do you think your testing went this morning? How is your sick "baby" doing now?

ruby - so sorry with all that you are going through - how is your son doing? Is he handling it okay? Re your renters - yes, you do need an assistant - can't you hand them all over to a local realtor or something? It seems to be so much work for you and so much added stress!

Rog - hope you had a good day - sounded like a nice one to me - although i am sure that you wish it were more fruitful for you. Tone - hope that you enjoy your football game. I wish I was there (yeah right!!).

Oh Bird - how awful for you having a $5000 deductible. The thing is that gallstones bloody well hurt so you KNOW you have to have it done! My reaction would be the same as yours - have a nap.

Oh - Ruby, you must have had eagle eyes for that pic - I looked and looked again - then all of a sudden it clicked what I was looking at!!! I thought it was a tube of makeup or something. LOL

Biz - thanks for the phone call - great talking with you - hope you don't get too wet tonight!! We have a small patch of rain possibly coming over but nothing much. I shall think about what you said - you are a great friend - like everyone here - how ever did I get along without this web site??

Grateful - Hope all is well with you - how are you this evening? I feel tons better than I did thanks to you and Biz. I think I am getting my head back on straight - not sure why, but the other day at the doc, I think it sort of gave me a shock hearing what he had to say!! But I am all sorted now and planning my next move. HAVE A PLAN. very important. Well, I am getting my head, and my plan, together.

Vicki might be posting soon I would think - hope she is doing okay - be good to hear eventually when she does post - I know we all worry about her. can't remember how long she said she was going to staying at her relatives.

High school and college sports are great fun. But pushing that education is essential. SO many low income kids look at the 'bling' sported by athletes and rappers, and it becomes their focus, instead of having the education to fall back on. And when so many of them who DO make it big hit the money, start throwing it around so indescriminately, once their short professional career is over, they're broke (or worse in debt trouble). Not an athlete, etc., but the infamous Rodney King of the California police beating, was awarded over $3 million dollars in damages. He's completely broke now.
Michael Vick is a prime example of stupidity, and selfish greed. I don't GAF HOW well he plays; any human who can beat an animal to death with his fists is truly sick. Tiger Woods is in financial trouble, with his endorsements cancelling and his divorce settlement (and he must be hiding something BIG so that Elin would go away quietly.) A recent news article says work has almost stopped on his Jupiter, Florida, home (a monument to conspicous consumption). Three pools?? REALLY?? Floyd Mayweather has just been arrested on about 8 felony charges for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and their children. WHY is it so common now for all these woman and men to make babies out of wedlock, when they can afford to marry? I understand not wanting to get married, that one child can be accidentally conceived, but 2, or more? These children deserve more of a settled life than that, and certainly should never have violence brought into their homes. According to police reports, he threatened to beat the children while he was angry with their mom. Whether it's fame, AL, drugs, money, that causes these things, they will stay with them forever.
So many top atheletes have money and perks thrown at them so early, they lose all persepective of real life, and respect of others. So, GREAT JOB, MB and Tony, on keeping your boys grounded.

Hey there people - is there anyone else here this evening? Just talked to Hubs - wanted to
talk about AL - told him that I AM going to beat this. His response? Yeh I know - you said that already. That is why I have all of you here. He doesn't consider my fall from grace any thing to worry about. He doesn't mind me drinking. Gives him an excuse - not an excuse - but if I am drinking, it makes the fact that HE is drinking okay! the fact that he drinks way more than me is irrelevant - and the fact that he thinks he doesn't have a problem - Irrelevant too! Just bums me out. I will beat this. But it would be nice to have some support on the home front as well. I know that Vicki and Grateful have the same problem with Hubs. So ..... here I am, talking to you instead of hubs. He is asleep. (works shifts, plus has had a few drinks and a heavy meal - you know how that goes). Not really venting - just sort of feeling wistful. Love and hugs to all my family here, (who LISTEN to me!!)

Ode To My Alarm Clock



Every morning I lie there innocently sleeping
When the peace is ruptured by a horrible beeping.
My serenity ripped asunder, sudden and drastic
By this evil, demonic, red-eyed piece of plastic.

I roll over in pain and pound on the snooze,
Groaning, moaning, thinking 'What's there to lose?'
'Don't make me get up, just nine minutes more.'
The same thing I've said every morning before.

It's not that I hate mornings or dread the new day.
It's just that I loathe waking up in this way.
I'd much rather simply rise up with the light,
Glowing in the window, chasing away the night.

But the sudden screaming, the incessant fuss,
Makes me want to yell and cry and simply to cuss.
Especially the knowledge that all of my sorrow
Will be repeated the same time, same way, tomorrow.
