I need a serious waxing!!
I know ya'll worry so quick check in. up all night with vomiting child....mix up on tests...will be tuesday at 10....so I am under cover cathcing up on sleep and taking baby son to doc later....he;s been complainig of a sore throat, but vomiting started last night.
Mother hood is such joy!!!! let me grab a few zzzzzzzzz's and will check in later
now I have to work Saturday cause I am taking today off :-(

I have a question for my family..what wa the moment you KNEW in your soul it was time to quit....and how did you do it> Cold turkey, meds, what?
Now that i have the possibility of a new job, I cannot allow any chinks in my armor...this will be a tough job...so I am gathering mjy mental arsenal for pros like you.....my head is in the right place, but I am looking for tips and pointers....I am not very good a self denial and white knuckling it!!!!!!

MB, it's not self-denial; it's self preservation. We tell our children that it's really dumb for them to do things that are bad for them, yet we do. I focus on the great feeling of sobriety, the regaining of respect of others, the feeling of being in control. You have a fabulous opportunity in a VERY tough job market; consider it a condition of employment that you CANNOT drink AL, just like some jobs require a move, a certain look, driving skills, etc. Figure this is the most important thing to help you begin to recover your life right now. It's sounds like a really fantastic opportunity!!

Honey, there's no secret, one way. Our own way out is as individual as our fingerprint. Most of us are not as strong as T, who just quit, after some REALLY bad experiences. Mine has been a long process; long periods of sobriety, then drinking occasionally, which always lead to drinking too much again, or to much time spent fretting about what and how much I've been drinking. I could drink one or two drinks, but it's stressful, and I guess when I realized I was leaving off the medications I NEEDED to stay healthy in order to drink, a lightbulb went off.
For all of us, if we continue to drink, the day will come when our bodies can't take it anymore, or we do irrepairable damage. Sometimes that realization comes to late. And when I realized, as I passed the age when my beloved Daddy did that damage to himself, I realized I wanted to live as long as I could. So maybe that was my 'Aha!' moment. Hope that helps you, honey.

What an INSANE day. Three of my new renters talk non-stop. One woman, the mother of 3 little boys, nudges me with her elbow, or grabs my arm constantly. Hubs has talked to her husband about doing some handywork around the rental, and he wanted to tell me about EVERY nail he was going to use, while I was trying to leave after an hour and half of their constant talking, nudging, poking, the little boys stepping on my feet because they thought it was funny (this is the family who's little one pooped in the whole car the first time we met.) I looked in their van when they slid open the door, and it looked like they'd been riding circus monkies around! 4 y/o wanted to come home with me.
Woman at other house told me they'd run into my ex-DIL who lives next door and she was obviously putting on a show for woman's husband. I've warned her, seriously, to watch out for her. So sad, really. Ex is VERY attractive, but I believe she'll be sorry if she messes with this girl. We seem to have a good understanding. But then she pulled out her camera and starts showing me 100's of pictures. ARRRRGGGHHHH!! Now they want to move in this weekend, and have to rush to finish up today and tomorrow morning. I need, need, need! an assistant.
MB, hope the baby is better. He isn't the one with the sick gf, is he?

for me mama it was a self awaking and i dont think anyone could have survive what i put in my body that night ... and truth be know i didnt want to surive... but im here now and just taking it one day at a time ... keep it going mama you will and is getting there just by you posting and asking shows you want i9t more then ever .. so keep reaching and you will find your way out

On a more somber note, son just called. His best friend growing up is the son of friends of ours; he's a retired airline pilot, and they now show horses aroung the world. Their daughter lives with them now, and is openly gay. Chris has children from relationships everywhere, has never 'amounted to much', as my parents used to say. I'm convinced he was the one who broke in to our house in the 90's, and know, on top of having diabetes since childhood, has been involved in drugs. Rick just saw him Sunday, but last night he had a brain aneurysim, and has been on life support until a few hours ago. It's sad to see a young (39) life wasted like his has been, and Rick is very upset about it. He's going to let me what happens, so I can visit his parents.
Just brings home how precious life is.
