It is actually not an understatement if I say that fecking EVERYTHING is riding on this.

Interesting observation: my cousin is married to a much older man. I was sitting across from him last night. He accepted a glass champagne when everyone around the table celebrated our reunion after so many years, plus red wine during dinner. However: he did not touch a drop of it during the whole of the evening. Mainly for health reasons, I suspect (he recently had a pacemaker inserted / installed / fitted). The thought crossed my mind that that could be an option. But it just wouldn't feel right, would it?

Actjulie, when we go out I ask for a wine glass for my sparkly water. It's a battle of wills between me and the waiter as he looks at me rather oddly for a minute. Why should I use a blooming great tumbler with half a ton of ice in it.

We did the same - I had quite a little thingy going with my soda water (to dilute the grape juice) and bowl of ice cubes

Here's the text:

New York - When a suicidal man threw himself from the top floor of a 39-storey building and landed on her car, it was a good thing Maria McCormack was not sitting inside.

But, rather than count her blessings, she flew into a rage because her treasured sports car was written off.

She is now demanding an explanation from Tom Magill, who survived his 120m fall in New York and is in hospital recovering from blood clots and two broken legs.

"I want to meet him and ask, 'Why? Why my car out of all the cars in the city?' It's my baby," she said of her Dodge Charger.

Magill, 22, fell at an estimated 200km/h from a balcony on a luxury block of flats.

He was still conscious after hitting the car, screaming "my leg, my leg" as he lay slumped across its back seat, looking like a "twisted pretzel", said witness Andrew Petrocelli.

"The car saved his life. He landed in there like a stunt man."

But McCormack, a 42-year-old mother-of-four, said: "I can't believe my car is gone. I've had other cars, but I really loved this car."

Insurers said the bodywork was too badly damaged to be repaired.

Magill was said to be stable in hospital after having rods inserted in both legs. Dr John Boockvar, a neurosurgeon, said: "The only way to survive is not land on your head. You want to land feet first." - Daily Mail

I'll just nip upstairs and ask him. He's fine enjoying being normal for a few days. He works 10 am 'til 8pm so not much time for socialising.

Funnily enough I just got over come with need to make my own apple sauce and a pudding.

I've actually been tidying a lot of cupboards. Ooh you should see under the stairs. The son and heir said you could Harry Potter in there now.

You just reminded me of something the eldest cub does: he repeats Potter spells (with chopstick in hand) while lisping deliberately. Very funny
