    Army Thread 7th September

Gillian McKeith, she didn't half get a slap for sticking Dr in front of her name.

Hiya Stirls, I could kill for a pizza tonight.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Well if I'm ever in one of your dreams, you can be sure I won't be doing housework. I dislike it enough during the day. Sure I won't be found doing it at night. I could cook something for you tho'...

I have some left-over pasticcio (pastitsio) I could send you.

Looks like this after it's cooked

Bottom layer is a minced meat, onion, tomato mixture. Topped with fat spaghetti that is mixed with a bechamel loaded with cheese. All baked till done and nicely browned on top. Yum, yum...

Yah know, I've always been good at what I eat... lots of fruit & veg and next to no refined carbs. How ironic is that, considering the poison I've chucked down my neck?!
Actually, I try to cook healthy foods during the week and manage it most days. It's the weekends when we order in or go out to eat that does me in. I love souvlaki - gyro. And Mc's cheeseburgers are one of my fave foods. Junk but I love the taste. And I make really good french fries and home-made pizza. But try not to make them too often. We do eat salads almost every day and fresh fruit is a must. We live almost out in the country in Greece for feck's sake. The fresh fruits and veggies are all around us. Ate fresh figs off the trees a while ago whilst walking the mutt. And a few grapes off the vines as well...

Oney, everyone thinks this is complicated and needs lots of pots to cook but the way I do it, I only use one big pot and one baking pan. I just usually make a double batch and we eat for two days. Seriously, if you want the recipe, I'll send it to you. I think it's something that your kids would love. My guys have always liked it. And it's much easier and less time-consuming than those stuffed tomatoes and peppers I make....

Lean ground beef, rolled oats for filler rather than breadcrumbs or something else. Egg - you can use just the whites if you want, milk for liquid and salt. That's it. I usually grill them in the oven.

Okay, I'm off for the night in a bit but just wanted to post a pic of Mr. Stirly and I and our sons at the wedding. I bought a new "fancy" outfit for the first time in a couple of years and must admit that I felt like a million bucks. This is the top (the colours show up better in this pic - wore it with white linen dress pants and then the shoes and handbag and finally the picture of the four of us. Older son - on my left, in the cream-coloured suit was best man.

65% increase in the last 5 years. Think the economy (or lack thereof) has anything to do with it?
I think it has a knock on effect, especially in older people but with kids,a lot is just peep pressure, i hear the kids talking and all they talk about is how much they can drink, how sick they were and the bruises they have....it is like a boasting thing.
