Good morning lovelies.
Still dark here and quite chilly and I am surprised I have beat Tigger to the post !!

Yesterday we found out mums cancer has spread to her brain. She has started taking morphine now, so I am assuming things will happen quite quickly now? If anyone has any experience of this, can you please let me know?
One wonderful thing thats happening is that all the difficulties in our relationship have vanished and we are closer than we have been for a long long time.
Funny how life can be eh?

I am doing OK though, just taking things day by day.

Good Morning Troopers.

Starty...my Dad had a morphine patch for the last year or so of his life to deal with the pain of osteoarthritis. Near the end he got pneumonia and during the last three weeks he was in hospital with a morphine drip. I was here, not there so I can only tell you what I remember my sister telling me. He slept most of the time and was awake only for an hour or so at a time when they needed to give him some nourishment. From what I recall, he was lucid during the time he was awake so he did communicate with those around him. He knew that his family was there and that they cared. The morphine was necessary to keep him comfortable. He died peacefully in the night with an evening nurse at his side. I can only hope that things will go similar to that for your Mom. The morphine will keep her comfortable and that she will go peacefully knowing that her family loved her and was at her side. :huggy
