All my girlfriends were talking last night about how their partners retreat into their caves and don't want to talk about anything, drives them all nuts! I think I will stick with my dog for now it's much simpler to understand her than try to decode the male mind
Kettle, pot & black spring to mind :H

Hello again ladies and poor Mario the caveman.

Zeps, there was a 13 year age gap between me Ma and Pa and they were married 46 years before he died.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

yes Oney, he gets like that when he gets a reminder of his age, this time it was renewing his drivers licence. last time it was when he went to the Dr.
No one would guess that he is as old as he is, I thought he was at least 8 years younger.
He is worried about him being too old for me, I have told and told him that I am not concerned but I guess he doesn't believe me.
zeppie, mr spuds is 20 years older than me. its me that found it difficult at first.. still do when people think im his daughter???? a couple i know had a 30 year age difference, she (the younger one) died last year in a car crash.... age didnt make a difference. before this i always went for 'toyboys' so i was a bit surprised when this happened. mr spuds does express concern about it occasionally but we cant change the calender so we just get on with it. hope you can convince him that its ok
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine

Mario us girls like to talk about everything and I think men naturally prefer to keep it inside, unfortunately this drives us crazy but we do have to accept our differences and not expect men to think like us just because it would be more convenient....

You are not being a downer Mario, it's good to get a males point of view. I can see exactly where you are coming from, but my point is he socialises with people my own age, that's why I originally thought he was younger than he actually is. I would understand more if I was younger, but I am late 30's, been married, got my own property, I can't have children. It's not like he's making me miss out on anything.

I gave up trying to understand what women think years ago. Anyway us men do talk about important things, such as football and cars and films and.......

Err no not really imo. Or at least not very often at all.

Age shouldnt make a difference if you love each other. Simplistic but true.

Ah but socialising and having a serious relationship is quite different,I am certainly not like this now but before i would always make sure that it was me who wasn't going to get let down and maybe i dont know, your man thinks you wont be interested in him when he is more older and will drop him,you need to contatly reassure him that your with him for him,

I don't think I can do anymore to try and convince him that I like him for him. I guess it's time to just sit back and wait to see if he changes his mind.

I think it's easier talking about personal stuff now that I'm sober too Mario, Drunken Zeppie would have thrown her toys months ago and just yelled and screamed a lot.

i have to say, if me and mr spuds were the other way round in age i would have problems. i have dated people a lot younger than me and like mario says i looked ahead and saw potential disaster and never really took the relationships too seriously because of this. having said that many relationships go tits up regardless of age so who can say what will happen. again like mario ive always looked long term at relationship potential, and i cant say it really did me any favors. im 45 and he's 65 and he gets in events and stuff at oap cheap price..... so thats a bonus... not to mention the free bus pass when poor ole me has to pay full price.
Today is the tomorrow i worried about yesterday and it turned out fine
