Seems a silly thing but when I think about it going in where you can buy drink at around the witching hour, which for me is 4-7pm, is just plain stupid.
Nice one Ktab...why make it harder than it already is...:goodjob:

            Hi Gang

Stirly Im with you on September, I never want it to end! The weather is amazing and the crowds have gone, when I think what perfection means to me this is pretty much it.....

Oh but just thought of an imperfection... KTAB they serve AL here anytime, any place, anywhere :upset:

Oney I think your day sounds fab, I watched the movie again last night THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR so im in total appreciation today of living moment by moment and seeing the wonder in ever little thing going on.

Will try to hold it till this afternoon when I have a meeting with my ex!

              Hello again, All

People are up in arms in Cape Town: the City Council has passed a bylaw which will prohibit the sale of alcohol before 11.00 a.m. (anywhere - out goes champagne breakfasts at hotels, guesthouses and such). Restaurants in neighbourhoods will have to stop selling at 9.00 p.m. Others will have to stop at 11.00 p.m., whils nightclubs can only go on until (I think) 2.00 a.m.
              I'll do whatever it takes

They sure will, Oney. But we have a huge AL problem in the Western Cape province, with the highest incidence of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome in the world. AL-related crime and violence is also rife.

                      Hi again,
You can get booze any time you want over here these days, the daughters got a 6pm shift 'til close, that's 5am at the bar what she works in.

Mind, they don't sell it at the paper shop 'til after 7am on Sundays.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

I think restricted opening hours makes a difference. I know most occasions I would have carried on drinking if they were still serving. Worst has to be my drinking pints of stout in the early house at about 8 am.

                          Hey JC :hallo:

No AL sales in supermarkets & liquor stores on Sundays here, except two liquor stores in the V&A Waterfront (for tourists). Restaurants and pubs etc. are obviously open and able to serve.

We cannot buy alcohol in a supermarket or shop until 10.30 or so I think and 12pm on a Sunday JC.

I know. We see it literally daily, living in a rural(ish) environment. It is very bad amongst the children of wine farm workers, where they still have access to a daily ration of AL if they so choose. In the past, they didn't have a choice: a part of their salaries would be paid in AL!!!!

Actually that was a bad night, I was out with friends in Dublin and when the taxi for a few of us was ordered, no chance of my getting in it. Decided instead to stay with the crowd from Dublin and keep drinking and on to a night club. Finished about 4 am and stayed in one of the guys apartment. Apparently I fell up the stairs and ended up with a black eye and bruised face. First stop in the morning after about 3 hours sleep was a shop for some sunglasses and then off to the early house. What f**king insanity.
So glad that part of my lfe is done with.
