Just thinking Starty, its lovely that you have the time to say goodbye to your mum, even though I cant imagine how awfully hard that must be. Its the people that are killed suddenly or take their own lives that must leave such important words unspoken.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

LMAO at images of Chilli on her bike doing the hokey cokey and JC running around the house dropping the F Bomb whilst under surveillance! Great start to the day for Cy (mine was a cat on my head playing with my hair).
Ktab... are you feeling chirpier now?
I made a curry the other night. Place stank for days... The houses here are open plan so it gets everywhere...
Just read over the posts myself. Ditto on all that Zens said. Hope those of you who were a bit down or not feeling well are better now.
I have never made curry. I tried it once a very long time ago and didn't like it. I really think I should buy some curry powder and try a recipe again. Who knows, I may like it. Any suggestions or recipes are welcome.
As for pizza, Mr. Stirly has claimed for years that if I opened a pizzeria featuring my homemade pizza that we would be rich. I know we like it but can't say that everyone would. Homemade crust of course - it's just so easy with dry yeast. Takes less time than thawing out frozen dough. Not veggie pizza mind you, we like ham and bacon but I think the secret is the way you layer the ingredients.
Always make cakes and cookies from scratch too. The mixes are too damned expensive over here.
BTW, I made a lovely typical Greek Sunday dinner.....sweet and sour chicken and mushroom fried rice...For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Hello, Stirly
I can't believe youse lot don't eat curry... Cape Town is well-known for its own "sub-type" / genre of Indian / Malay cuisine - called Cape Malay.I'll do whatever it takes

All this talk of food is making me hungry!!! I think I'll invite someone over for dinner, I feel like cooking now!
You'll need garam masala and cumin also Stirly... at least I always add them. Then there are different types of curry mixes... I use the tandoori one a lot and add other bits n bobs...
Funny thing, the spaghetti sauce here is different than the typical Italian sauce with ground beef. It's made with the basic ingredients of ground beef, tomatoes, onions, garlic, bay leaf and EVOO but it also has cinnamon and I add some cayenne pepper for a little extra flavour. It really is to die for. It is one of my very favourite dishes. Oh my, I feel a snack coming on. A big one....For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

I buy the dough from the supermarket... they sell it in the bakery section, made fresh daily. I can roll it to however thick I want. I make the tomato sauce from scratch but add tomato sauce from the can... it tastes better for some reason. Then I throw on whatever I have around... and usually add fresh basil at the end. Feta & black olives are really good, with thin sliced red onions and ham and the fresh basil. I like ham & pineapple too. You can come up with some very strange ones if you try hard enough as well!!!
And for Starty and Ktab... works well with cut up soy sausage meat too.
How are ya'll??sigpic
