Fen, I still haven't tried the kale recipe, but I will get around to it.
Mother's surgery went well (it was yesterday, not today) and hopefully she'll be feeling a lot better now the tumours are gone.
I've caved on putting up the shadecloth on the patio by myself and I've hired a handyman to help me. The artificial turf should go down within the fortnight and then I can take a break. I've been so full on for the past few months and I've been loving it, but I think I'm about ready to sit back and enjoy the fruits of my labours.
My car is at the mechanic's at the moment having the timing belt and 90 000km service done. Next week I hope to drive down to see my daughter and grandchildren, and hold and smell my new grandson, Evan. Love that baby smell. When Ashe was born I spent hours just breathing in her scent. I so understand why animals smell their young.
My squash and cucumbers have been producing flowers, but mainly males. However, I've had a couple of 'girls' and made sure they were properly fertilised. I'm delighted to have a passionfruit flower, too. I really wasn't expecting fruit until next year.

SO good to see our beautiful COCO!!! My hair is fine and thin, but Hubs has enough in his ears and nose to weave a carpet!! Not to mention my ongoing battle against hound hair on my floors. I believe there actually may be another dog secretly living under my furniture.

Oooh - I know all about "bagsing" things - I haven't done it for years though. It's not well known in the US (people look at you funny) and as an adult... well - I suppose I could try it. "I bags the opening for branch manager." Ha ! If only it could be that simple!
