    Army Thread 23nd Sept 2010

Good Morning Jan, Chilli, expat, Ktab, starty, tips & stirly :l

Starty, I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now, but as tips says, please vent away here, I had to smile at your post on FB yesterday you posted about your bad day and so many people replied with lovely thoughts and to my knowledge most of them were from here, Alcoholics have a nasty reputation but I think that those of us here are some of the nicest people that I have ever met and I am proud to call you all friends .........:l:h:l

Good morning Army, I finally get on. Internet connection is crap at the minute due to the weather unfortunately no control over that.
Jan congratulations on your 2 months, your positive attitude is so encouraging.
          Chill, have a safe journey.
Starts, that Doc should be SHOT. I think I would have slapped him then and there and feck the consequences. You have a lot on your plate at the moment but your "lucky" to have the chance to make your peace with your mother and say what you need to say. Have a couple of these tho to help you thru':l:l:l

                  Army Thread 23nd Sept 2010

                  Good Morning Folks!
Dear Starty, I can see how that knob of a doctor would get your blood boiling.
Years ago, My step-dad, George, who was 49 at the time and who my mum left with us when she left him (Long story . He'd nowhere else to go) took ill one night and we got the emergency doctor out to have a look at him. George was staggering around and slurring his speech and for once he was sober but to me it looked like some kind of attack or stroke or something. Well this doctor came in and, knowing a little of his drinking history, told him to go to bed and gave him a prescription for something or other to be collected in the morning. Well, I went to see how he was in the morning and he was dead. I called an ambulance and his own doctor came out and was very angry about the first doctor missing what was obviously something serious. He complained and so did we but that was in the days when closing ranks was the norm and nothing came of it. Locums can sometimes seem like a different breed. Not much shocks or surprises me any more, but that was a shock. I was struggling to think of how to tell my daughter who was five and worshiped her Papa, that he had died. When she came in from school, I sat her down on the back stairs and told her. She thought for a second then said, "Oh well...That's only four in our family now.", and continued with her day. She made me smile. That little thought got me through those rough few days and still does when something else like that happens, as it does more and more the older I get.

Anyway, enough of my cheery morning tales. I'm off to the hills on Saturday to climb two Monros and am really looking forward to it. I'm going to do at least one every weekend I can until I've done all 283 of them. I've got a few under my belt but it may take a few years to get the rest. There are some climbs that you can do 5 or 6 in one day. I'm going to take a photo at each summit and post it here to give you all a flavour of what I'm doing.

Morning LJ,KT,Chill,Xpat,Starts,Cirly Wirly Stirly Girly,Oney,Betty,Opal,Pops and all those yet to drop by.
Excellent attitude,Jan,exllent job on 2 months.

Report the a*** hole, Starts. I had to report an emergancy dentist that I saw on Easter Sunday last year. He had an utterly foul attitude, was rude to Mr JC, asked for cash for the treatment. He then prescribed me some anti-biotics that you can't drink AL on. When I complained that I couldn't take them because I drink. He just said 'Well,it's not my fault you're an alcoholic'
When I reported him on the Tuesday, I was the 3rd person that morning to complain about his attitude.

                    I'm taking me tablet now,Betty
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Hi guys, thanks for all the support. I will report the fucker, but when this is all over. Or before, if they ever suggest he sees mum again.
Just got back from hers and she is very weak, but not losing so much blood or coughing as much as yest so I am very relieved. Its awful to watch someone suffer like that and be so helpless.
Anyway, I have come home for a kip cos I am exhausted. My bro is over for the weekend so he can take over then.
