I got my BA about 7 years ago and thought I'd have a break before I went to teachers college, then I got involved with the dishies and that was the end of that.

down side is I will have to lease out my dishies to other trainers, but I can still help out in the weekends and holidays when I'm studying etc and of course I keep four or five about to keep me company

My daughter's thinking of teaching, doing Science. She's got he BSc.They get a golden hello, ?9K a year while training and if she teaches for 3 years she'll get her student loan written off.

wow JC I might study over in the uk, they pay for your studies and allowance if you teach certain subjects, ones that I don't have.

I was talking to my friend the other day, her daughter is first year teaching and she said that the kids (10 to 12 year olds) call her a 'slut' etc. The little monsters. I will be teaching older kids so I am sure their language will be way more colourful

She actually owes about ?20K in student loans and she was one of the lucky ones that didn't have to pay fees., and that was with us helping her out.
They're desperate for science teachers over here that's why they're doing a deal.

over here they are encouraging 'maori language' and ' home economics' which seems a bit strange

they have gone a bit wussy over here with education, instead of grades they just say oh well you all win because you turned up. Then the poor kids don't know what hit them when they start work or go to uni - when they are getting tonged up for not performing well.
