It's just occurred to me, bearing in mind mish's thoughts that AL addiction progresses even during AF, and 'conventional' (as far as I know) thought that when you start again after AF, you start exactly where you last stopped, that every time I have stopped drinking, I have stopped abruptly, as if leaving a loose end.
For some, myself included, it may be that loose end is best left hanging, or sorting it could be deadly, but I can't help wonder if I ever actually tried to address my problem instead of avoiding it, things would have been different.
