    i need advice

    Ladyj,
i am sorry if my advice was not correct as i always was a bad binge drinker and definetely do not understand withdrowals for someone who drunk constantly.
All i can say 100% is that librium(under medical supervision) does help a lot through first 3 days.
I did a lot of cold turkey after 3-4 day binges and it was horrible but i did it. I am 30 year old male with(funny enough) healthy liver so thats maybe why i managed my cold turkeys without fits etc. I do apologise if i made cold turkey option sound as easy and heathy one. It is NOT.
    Kind Regards,Steve4

No worries Steve I could see your intention was good, I just felt it was necessary to clear things a bit in case some newbies were reading and misunderstood things, as it IS
      dangerous.
Alcoholism is a very deep and complex subjet..and to break free from it, is just as complex once it has reached a point of no return, I am talking about the point when it is becomes daily a problem to control, and not just socially occasionally..

Oh but if it were as that easy as our critics cry to us
"well if you have a problem drinking, well then just don't drink simple as that"...

all I can say to that is Bullfeckingshite....!!!!...it's not that smple.......!!!!

thanks all ..... going to plan a tapering off day by day rather than weekly and discuss this with my cpn on tues .... i have been refered to a daily detox prog here in plymouth called hamoaze house just havent heard from them yet ...... plus running out of money as now not employed worried about having to do enforced cts unless i start shop lifting (have done a few times) but never again ...... still am ok till see centre on tues ...... ta for all your concerns ...... and just to reinforce for newcomers it is different jst stopping if you are a habitual drinker as opposed to a binge drinker i will follow medical advice but talk to the guy about a more structured plan to get sober as opposed to the 3 week thing which doesnt feel right ..... plus i dont actually think i am drinking more i just couldnt remember how much i was drinking until i started an honest diary ..... before that i just had to guess pm x
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round .... really love to watch them roll .... no longer riding on the merry-go-round ...... I just had to let it go

I would disagree with the binge drinking thing. For years I would vomit, sweat, have slightly wobbly legs, panics, paranoia etc after extreme binges of anything more than 24 hours(and some of those would come on after less than 24 hour binges). You see I would consume a daily drinkers amount in about 3 hours flat. Yup 1 bottle of wine per hour. Although my binges got longer and at various points I did become a top-up drinker I would say after every binge I was going through a mini detox/withdrawl episode and I felt I almost became an expert on them - having had so many.

I do know that drinking 3 bottles a day for a week is actually probably likely to make withdrawl much worse.

                  Evening PM,

I'm afraid I don't have any advice to give you and you have clearly had lots from the very experienced folk on this site but I did want to say I have been following your progress and wish you well. You have been trying for a while now to get help and deal with your addiction so I for one am rooting for you and really hope you can pull it off this time.

Lots of good strong vibes coming your way.

                  Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

Thinking of you PM. Try and have a bit of sober time in the morning when you wake up and think this thing through. You sound so sad, follow what the medics say, if you can get off some of that booze you'll start seeing things clearer.Hope you get a nights sleep and let us know how you are tomorrow

Looks like a good program, PM; maybe you can call tomorrow (Monday) and follow up, or have your CPN do it Tuesday when you visit. They'll be able to offer you much better guidance than we can patch together here. xoxo Pride
