That is so true Starts. I hope your mother has a good night now that she'll be back in her bed again, can't have been comfortable for her sleeping in a chair. Sometimes small comforts mean so much.

Well the chair was amazing compared to choking in her bed. So it was a blessing really. But now she will have proper support to stay upright. It will be much better

Hopefully I'll catch you later Starts nearly feeding time here. I can't believe I have only 6 weeks left at home with him before I have to go back to work. I don't know where the time has gone.

          Hey Starty & Opes

Starts: good news on all the equipment!

          I'm one fortunate Tigger today:

          - home from work early
          - our fundraising event today was a sell-out (cake sale - hence the mass production of muffins with the cubette). My department made R13500 in support of the Red Cross Children's Hospital Burns Unit.

Have a look (if it interests you) The Children's Hospital Trust ? Hospital Charity Organisation | Children's Hospital Trust

          - The cubs are sleeping over at Grandma's, so it'll be nice and peaceful at home tonight. If the telly doesn't interfere Mrs. T and I can even spend some quality time together

          - there is plenty of last night's curry left over. I don't have to cook dinner either!
          I'll do whatever it takes

              Let him go barefoot, Expat...

The eldest cub will be 14 in January. The only shoes he wears with any regularity is the pair of compulsory trainers to school in winter.

He even goes barefoot when we visit casual restaurants or go to the movies. Before you think its weird: its fairly common in South Africa and particularly in rural towns sucha as the one I live in (despite its proximity to Cape Town).

Oh boy... there I go... Off on a tangent again... :new:

What I meant to say was: hope you find something!

Hmm... Barefeet won't pass in Paris. Tempting though! When we were kids (back in the day!), we were not allowed to wear trainers to school. So my mum would buy us these horrible solid leather shoes. They would last the WHOLE school year! And with my skinny little white chicken legs wearing my Catholic school uniform (white blouse, skirt, navy jumper)--I was quite a sight. Sigh.

She will be able to sleep in her bed tonight for the first time since Saturday
That's going to be a massive help for you and your Mum.

                              Hey, JC

It was good to see people pulling together. Almost everyone contributed. Either by baking themselves, or through cash donations and buying on the day. I work in a fairly big department, but it was still very good going.

The nice thing is that the company will match the cash we raised.

It's breast cancer month in,October. so make it pink.

Now this isn't maudlin or anything, but it's 5 years ago today since my bezzie mates funeral (she died from breast cancer) and her wake was brilliant. It was tears and laughter all the way.
