    OkSOBERfest Challenge

Hi, I'm feeling better after copious amounts of ibuprofen. After a quick lunch, my team and I went to Taliesin West, the winter home of Frank Lloyd Wright built in 1937. Spectacular views from the property, and a very interesting tour of the site. If you ever visit the Phoenix/Scottsdale area add this to your To Do list. The weather has been spectacular and I'm going to miss it.

I've had some intermittent pain in my right thigh the past few months that has worsened. It began suddenly weeks prior to the Malibu event. Now, I'm limping around and I'm very uncomfortable. I will schedule an MRI for next week. Well, I do hope to hear from some of you AWOL folk
Thats no good Tech. Have you injured your thigh in the past? Just wondering if it may be referred pain from your spine. COuld be from the sciatic or femoral nerve. Goo.d that you are getting it checked out.

Thanks. No past injuries that could account for this. Months back it just started bothering me. just keeps getting worse. Once I started limping the alarm went off, that this needs attention. I'll see what my Orthopedist thinks. BTW, congrats too on 1000 posts!!!

Hi folks, i just got back on my way from airport into midtown. The flight was good, but I was miserable. I'm going to pick some stuff up at the office and catch the train home. I plan on working from home next week. I do hope everyone has a GREAT weekend. I plan to rest, read, and work on a business plan. I'm sure you can sense my excitement.

            Thought For Day 22

            Making fears insignificant
Fear is possible only when you forget how much power you really have. Fear takes up those spaces in your world that you have neglected to fill with love and positive possibility.
You don't have to fight the fear. You don't have to let the dark clouds of dread and anxiety cast their crippling shadows over your life any longer.

Instead, allow love to fill your awareness. Give in to that beautiful longing you feel to be fully and authentically you.

Give your life's energy to your highest hopes, desires, dreams and positive possibilities. Then your fears will naturally recede into insignificance.

With your mind and your spirit at peace, your thoughts and actions are free to be strong, focused and effective. You'll unleash the ability to create value and richness in your world.

The positive possibilities are truly without limit. Imagine them, allow them to inspire you, and turn your attention toward fulfilling the best of them.

I hope this post find you all well. I'll be gone for a few days. I'm being admitted to the hospital. I can barely stand on my right leg. This started several months ago. It has just gotten exponentially worse. After talking with my NY doctor tonight, and after he reviewed the x-ray taken at the clinic in AZ he is having me admitted. Talk to you soon...John!

Techie, what a drag! Could this problem have kicked up due to the bike accident? I hope they figure it out and you're back on your feet (literally) soon. You really didn't want to leave that AZ weather, did you? : )

Still working on the conquering fear thing here. It imprints pretty early, before we have adult power, I think. A limbic response and tough to rewire. You've probably read Stephen Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People"; a lot of your post on habits above picks up on his philosophy of change, which has always seemed wise to me.

Hi guys. I'm doing ok. I have a frickin blood clot in my right leg. I'm lucky to not of had serious or fatal consequenses of this. They are giving me an IV drug (heparin) to disolve the clot. I was moved to ICU because they are not sure if a piece could still travel to my heart or lung. My doctor said that they are seeing more cases like mine of people who do long distance running and biking. The triathlon types that travel long distances by air on business. Well that me. Now that I think of it I think the Singapore flight after Malibu was just too much. Well, enough enough about my woes HOW are you guys doing? I'm feeling somewhat lonely here. My blackberry is losing power but I'll post on the roos thread out of need!

Bloody hell Techie......but thank heavens you are in the best place. I had a blood clot in my calf about three years back, caused by being comatose drunk for about three days and hardly moving. Had the same treatment as you, heparin and have had no problems since. What did the doc mean about the runners/bikers being more at risk, or it is the combination of this with the flying? Hope you are feeling better soon, relax...eye off the nurses.....rest.... love ya:h

I can undertand why bikers might be more susceptible because of the posture restrictions and the compression of the seat...what does this mean for you exercise wise in the future?

                              Techie,

Sorry to hear about your problems with your leg but you did the right thing, are in the right place and are on the mend so lots to be grateful for but what a worry and fright. You have had a few challenges recently with one thing and another maybe someone/something out there in the universe is telling you to slow down and take it easy - only a thought.

So take the rest, relax and as Saffie says - eyes off the nurses

                              Dewdrop :h
Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

Thought For Day 29 (just need to finish this out)

                                Steadfastness of purpose
Don't base your attitude on how things are. Choose your attitude so that it supports and expresses the way you wish to be.
Events and circumstances swirl around you in a constant state of flux and confusion. Yet those things you perceive and experience do not define who you are.

You are more than the fleeting situations and occurrences in your world. Living within you are the steady values, purposes, intentions and dreams that transcend all the ups and downs playing out around you.

Let your feelings be guided and inspired by the best that's inside you. Don't let those feelings be tossed in every direction by whatever happens to come your way.

There is no end to the number of distractions vying to pull you away from your purpose. Yet there is no good reason to give in to any of those distractions, for each one will soon pass on by.

Live with a steadfastness of positive purpose. Who you truly are, is always much stronger than whatever you might be going through.
