Lovely story, Saffy - you must be proud as all. Well done, that boy!

Think I might need to hire Saffy as a Personal Trainer to get me back to my pre-winter-sloth fitness level. Seems I can only put in about five hours of physical stuff before needing to come in, have a cuppa, anoint the armies and have a little sook.
      Krikey Tawn, I might hire you!!!!!! Five hours...thats awesome.......talk about a goer:H

          Hi Angel,

Yes I am bursting with pride for my son. It has been eight years of hell, but I never gave up looking for answers. The number of, folk that slip through the cracks of the mental health system to become either homeless; in jail; or dead is a tragedy of epic proportions, and a national disgrace. Much more money desperately needed to be put into research and facilities for treating this often deadly illness. It usually strikes our young folk in late teens and the downward spiral is fast and catastrophic. If you dont have the determination and courage to roll up your sleeves and take on the system and DEMAND action, then nothing is done...too little too late. My son is an example of what CAN be done when action is demanded by the family. I will be eternally grateful for his recovery and his return to us.

Best echidna I ever saw Tawn and so well groomed, must have taken ya ages to comb its quills. Betty I hope you are feeling better supersonically fast. Bridge, if that house is empty, you could squat in it and I'm sure that possession is 9/10"s of the law...just go get it. Very proud mumma here today....my beautiful son who has been fighting schizophrenia for eight years (now well) is having a book launch today. He has written and had published poetry spanning the eight years of his illness...in it he describes the places that psychosis has taken him to.... brilliant, insightful, tragic, heartbreaking, heartwarming, amazing. The title of his collection is ECLYPTIC. He has fought so long and hard for his sanity and we are so grateful, humbled and inspired by his recovery. There is a lesson there for all of us struggling with our demons....they can be beaten....we can recovery......nothing is impossible.....there is a way out.....love and gratitude to all my friends here..have a wonderful day xx
That makes me feel so humble.

You know, this just makes my heart sing.

I know there have been, and will be more MWO, meet-ups ... but to think that some bird from Woop Woop in Oz might just hook up with a follically-challenged Saffa in Schtollenburg (sp?) just blows me away.

                                It's Stellenbosch, Tawny

We were planning to have dinner together on Tuesday, but now that Rags & Mr. Rags have arrived in Cape Town early, we can get together over the weekend.

I'll give my bald pate a special polish before the time, Tawny :H
