        Hey Missy - holiday time!!!!

Don't know how long I can remain as Kermit ... I miss my pencil-neck avatar ....

Hey - forgot to share this - yesterday morning I went outside and found each of the serrations on the leaves of the new growth on a rose bush came with their own personal dew drop. Thousands of them. Bloody beeeeewdiful. Dog, it's everywhere if you just open your bloody eyes.

Funny thing. I had EXACTLY the same experience yesty morning in my own gardi.
I think the rose in question was 'First Prize'
I just stood there transfixed. It was astonishing.

For those who are becoming skeptical, and convinced that the chickens are actually 'Bridget's Imaginary Friends'.....Here is Mercedes (foreground) and Schapelle behind her.

Mercedes, the chicken who eschewed menopause to lay again.....anything is possible ....

And about bloody time! They're lovely. How do you know Mercedes was menopausal and not just off the lay? Have you learnt their lingo yet? Isn't life soooo much better with a couple of chooks cruising around?

Bridge! About time we got those photos!!! Chooks look gorgeous! Do we get a graph as well? :H

The photo is lovely TF. You have such an eye for it. I love this time of year ....... it has so much of a feel of nature awakening.

Mr G - your response a couple of days ago to my dillemma was spot on and very helpful - thanks. I am going to contemplate.

However, I have made the initial decision to respond to an invite to come to Melbourne for a meeting on November 17th. A toe in the water as it were. To a venue very close to Lygon Street!! :H

Things couldn't be better here ... report finished and emailed, Mr B is out and I am taking advantage of his absence to have my "party music" playlist on really loud while I pack (we have overlapping but different musical tastes :H:H). Proclaimers playing as we speak ......

Big decisions being made here ....... 2 pairs of shorts or three? (I'm not sure that Sydney is quite ready for my Wellington-winter legs ..... :H:H) Which audio-books for the i-pod?? Can I be bothered getting more milk before we go?

BTW I am not taking my lap top, so will only check in if I can get free wi-fi for my i-pod touch.

I feel incredibly excited about this holiday!!! It is the first one I have had for about 3 years that hasn't been dominated by things other than the entirely pleasurable.

Yep! And I just want to thank Underoos one and all ..... the responses to my post a couple of months ago when I was cracking up and feeling totally trapped were a god send. It gave me some much needed perspective and the courage to stick up for myself and say no to some things. I've spent the time since ticking off stuff that I really needed to do (going back onto the anti-d's particularly, but also getting out of my contract), and I go away feeling like this is the start of a new chapter.

Aren't they gorg ? Merc hadn't laid for 6months, and didn't come back on after the moult. She was in a place that wasn't really suiting her. Both girls are rescues, and nobody really knows their complete biography.

The odd thing is.....we think we might be getting eggs from Schappelle now as well... TBC.....
My favourite noise is that little quiet little one that they make, they almost sound like a puppy or something.....such a pleasant surprise to own chooks. I never would have believed it .
We weren't allowed to have chooks as younguns, as my Dad thought they stank and were a bit tacky ?????

WOOOHOOOO Missy......If I was in my own house down south, I could meet up with you quite easily......
I don't think Sydney is THAT warm all the time yet, so don't forget to take snuggle bunnies.
