            Bugger,
I've been away so long I've completely forgotten how to upload from photobucket. What do I click on in the advanced reply to upload? Thanks in advance.

The PhotoBucket plugin which used to be at the bottom of thread pages has been removed.

So now you need to copy the URL of the picture you want to upload, then click on the icon that looks like a mountain with a sun (looks the same as the "landscape" option on most digital cameras) and copy the URL into the pop-up box that appears - it is located between the little envelope and paper button and the button that looks like a speech bubble.

                    Morning all,

Looking forward to those photos Rags!

Aspy, I like it when my pre-conceptions prove to be wrong!! Isn't it great that he is still going to meetings!!

I had an interesting/puzzling experience at my nieces wedding ...... her father (my ex-BIL and someone who I have detested for many years) gave a long and rambling and incoherent speech which was littered with phrases that I recognised from the days when I used to go to AA. As soon as he finished his speech his two sisters bundled him up and took him outside and gave him a good talking to. I had never realised that he had had a drinking problem, but I asked his other kids about it later and apparently it was a significant factor in why my sister left him. But she has never mentioned that to me, and my nephew said that its something that only he and one other of his sisters talk about together (in a family of 5 kids). I was left a bit gob-smacked at the way in which we let attitudes to this disease isolate not just those who drink, but the ones around us who suffer the consequences.

Anyway, on a more cheerful note, am meeting Angelcakes for coffee this morning!! Looking forward to it immensely!
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Morning Geester, Aspy and all to come,

Aspy you are so right about making assumptions. We all do it every day! And it can lead us up the garden path and into trouble. We assume so much about a person by the the clothes they wear, the way they speak, the car they drive, even the type of dog they have. We paint a picture in our heads without them even knowing it. My youngest boys both have really long hair, one wears black clothes and jewellery. They come up against so much prejudice because of it, but it doesnt make them want to run off and conform, so that others feel more comfortable. No they stand their ground, they tell the world that I am more than what I appear to be, so open your eyes. I remember going to a rehab facility about seven years ago and the psychologist interviewing me said: you dont look like an alkie, you dont talk like an alkie, are you sure you are an alkie? I left that place in disgust! I think I learned something that day, and that is not to assume anything from the outward appearances. I'm off to see the wizard today, so I wish everyone a fabulous and joyful day, Saffy xx

                        Gday Missy,

                        Sorry cross posted,

I find that story about the ex BIL amazing Missy. And it just goes to show the lengths that people will go to deny the problem. It seems very odd that your sister never mentioned, and that only two of her children even talk about it. I come from a family that shares absolutely evening, the good the bad and the ugly. I think a lot of people do this with problems, they hide, ignore them in the hope that they will go away. But we all know where that ends up. Ah Missy, humans, we are such strange animals. Enjoy your meet up with AngelCakes today, that will be wonderful. Love Saff
