Morning loves. Have to be at dentist in an hour, so rushing.
Glad everyone is back and on the upswing. I checked a minute ago and Starting Over's mum is still holding on. Be sure to keep them in your thoughts. Starts is one of the most amazing people I've ever 'met', and such a powerful example of success here. One of the first people on MWO who made me welcome, along with OneTooMany, Cymru. This is something we all face at some time, and unfortunately, the more we love our parents, the harder this inevitable time is.
MB, glad my suggestion may have helped, but you sold yourself, I'm sure. That was just a little ice cream on top, or maybe the cherry!! :H I'm sure your present employer will NEVER find anyone like you again, and will FINALLY really appreciate how great you are, too late. Go in to this new job confident, eager, ready to learn while establishing your own stamp on your job. It will take a little while to get your feet on the ground, so spend as much time as you can watching and listening, but let them know you're willing to hit the ground running and take charge, always diplomatically. Learn something new everyday, be willing to take on WHAT YOU'RE PAID FOR while you prove your the right choice, and can even be more valuable with added power and position. I was always my worst enemy; talking too much, listening too little, not counting to 10 when I was pushed before responding.

Oh am so excited for you MB.I bet its all you can think about. hahaha. Its cold this morn I'm so glad. The cat gets very excited and runs around like crazy rolling in the road (its dirt) while I wait for the bus with the kids. Feeling alot better today and back at the piano after a weeks break. Got a doc appt today, hope he pulls these staples out....Nora thats cool to live close to disney. Grateful feel better now. Rubes have fun at the dentist. Tony love you pic of Ace. Sunny, good morning to you....hey ,we watched this sho last night about teens in china working in blue jean factorys. It was awful and they were working 20 hours a day an very poor conditions for very little money. And you have to work there about 15 weeks bfore you get 1st pay. Then they send it home to mama. walmart was buying the jeans. never seen so many jeans and makes me think there are so many clothes we never wear or so many clothes in the thrift stores and why do we need all these new ones? Anyway..my kids said..its a cruel world out there Mom...they still want new jeans...b

Just got a call from MIL. FIL left at 7 AM for doc appt in next city, and the doc just called (at 10:15) to see where he is, he never made it there. Called Hubs, who is exhausted, but told him to forget about that MF job and find his Daddy, and calm his Momma. They are 85, and while I know things will happen, Hubs hasn't accepted that yet, or is in denial. I'm sure this will end up being a misunderstanding somewhere. Just saying.

We found his lame ass, THIS time. Like I said, someone has to step in and make him accountable. He's planning on leaving for the lake in a few hours.
I understand, truly, how hard it is for him to give up any independence. But this kind of thing happens more often. I've told Hubs it will be easier to begin some restrictions than to deal with him killing someone later on the road. Grandchildren have not been allowed to ride with him for 10 years. It's a terrible burden for Hubs, I know. I cried with my Daddy when he could no longer drive. But there is the public to consider, even though he probably drives better than any teen or drunk (not saying much is it??)
No worries. This is our lot in life, and I hope our children give us this much respect and understanding. We show them how to treat the older people in our lives by our actions. My Daddy's father was an awful man, never a real father, yet Daddy took care of him like a baby when he sat in front of a space heater and burned his own kneecaps off. Daddy always did the next, right thing. What an easy mantra for us, isn't it?? While we can't change what others do, we can control what we do. Sorry to be so heavy this early, but it seems to come in right and left these days. Comes from caring about so many people, I guess. But I wouldn't change it to being alone.
Thank you all for your concern. And don't worry about me. This is the turmoil that is my life!! With older loved ones, it's to be expected.
I've heard a lot of people say here they have little experience with death, loss. Mine has been extensive, so it's a natural part of life for me. I think that makes it easier, really. We understand the beginning, the middle, and the end. So again, thanks for your messages, and I'm sorry for the long read. Just trying to help you understand me and that I'm REALLY OK.

GOOD MORNING! What a beautiful, nice cool fall day! I turned my air off and opened all the windows when we came home Fri and it has been so nice having clean, fresh air in the house and chilly air at night so I can bundle up. Great sleeping weather! Praying for your inlaws, Ruby. So glad you are feeling better, Bird. Grateful, sweetheart, I am praying that you feel better. I am sure you are run down. You need some days alone to rest your mind and body, hopefully this Friday! MB, I know you're too excited to work today! Nora, didn't know you lived so close to Disneyland! Prob all of it, MB. Just of course he and MIL don't recognize it. SAYS he went to appointment. Who knows. Hubs is ill-equipped to deal with this. Been trying to deal with this issue for several years.
