Sounds odd but try looking at the "just for laughs" thread - there are some good jokes there and it will take your mind off what is bothering you - even if the jokes seem silly - it will occupy your mind. All of us get that way, Swan. Even with long sobriety. It's really just feeling real like without an an AL cushion on things. When we truly don't experience things for a long time, it feels strange and unnatural at first. You'll be OK.

Swan, we really never learned how to handle problems, we just got drunk and avoided them. Now we have to deal with things in a new way and it is hard at first and it is certainly not fun, but it is easier than not dealing with it and feeling sick over yourself for drinking. Meanwhile your life gets totally backed up and out of control and we get that attitude that we won't to be left alone and isolate ourselves from life, family and friends just for a lousy drink! I'm preaching to myself, girl. I have learned that my biggest trigger is pain, but I'm trying to deal with it sober and it's not that bad. Sunny is right. Occupy your mind with something! Do not spend time alone with yourself plotting out all the reasons you need a drink. That is only that alcohol beast talking, certainly not you! You are not controlled by anything! We are here for you! Tony, you poor thing. Do we need to send you some books to read, sweetheart? Where in the world is Roger and everyone? Love you all, Vicki

ok...back from doctor and late supper
Clay has a fracture on the growthplate of his pointer finger....right at the knuckle...tiny little thing on the xray, but it is really hurting him....and he cant play Friday night so he upset....but things could be so much worse.....so I am thankful
Swan....can you get a prescription for a very mild tranquilizer??? I use klonopin when i need it and it works like a charm
back to work tomorrow...it's hard pretending to still care, but the charade must go on for a little longer...
had mexican for dinner and need to undo my belt and wallow...

I made a huge pot of chili with rice, cornbread, sour cream and avocado. Pop has a very bad cold, probably won't be going to work tomorrow, which is good since he hasn't had a day off in over 2 weeks, and he's worn out. But MAN is he an :bum: when he's puny. Can't imagine what REALLY being sick would be like with him. Think I shall drug him tomorrow if he stays home.
He had an unpleasant thing to do today. Had to fire a couple of people and reprimand his brother's grandson. The boy's boss told Hubs he'd let it go if Hubs wanted him to, but he said ,'No, put the fear of God in him.' Bet he won't do it again.

Hello everyone. I wish that I could stop & talk to everyone. I am thinking of you all. I'm sorry that I wasn't around today. I'll try to check in more tomorrow.
We went & hired a lawyer today. I am glad that we did that. My son seems glad that we did too even though he kept saying that we shouldn't do it. Anyway, I am going to bed now even though it's early. I have the FAA coming in first thing in the morning for an audit. They want to check over my Drug & Alcohol Program at work. Sort of ironic.

Just saw this on the FB page of the little girl(now20) who was born, grew up next door to it. Her parents were in a difficult relationship, and her mother died this summer suddenly. A beautiful thought..........

What're your thoughts on this, guys? I've personally believed there is a bias; the media doesn't go after all politicians as thoroughly or aggressively, it seems. JMHO.
