      I'm angry with Hubs because I'll spend my birthday alone again. Every year in recorded history he's had to work. While I say prayers of thanks for the job, it has been a huge burden on our marriage. It got worse when the kids were gone, and their special events kept them from being able to follow my schedule; we work around when son has the girls, when SIL works, when daughter's on call, when Hubs can leave town. We came through this economic crash nearly unscratched, but at a big price emotionally. So, I'm used to cancellations, re-scheduling, empty chairs. Just part of life now. I'm not good with change, but I'm trying. Hell, I'll reschedule my funeral if one of the kids has a soccer game that day!! :H:H:H

        ruby should i say you sound very mad and disapointed there ...im sorry maybe i should join you and lets build something ....things down here are really starting to piss me off...one minute all is good and dandy and the next you get some ass that doesnt rememeber what you tell them ... but such is life in this game of working for myself as they say

          Not mad, but have to admit some disappointment. No worries, I've dealt with it for years. You're welcome anytime, honey. We'll plan a big meet in the late spring, then youall can miss it on pain of Ruby!
          Just had a young man who's grandaddy-in-law is the pastor at their church where he's working to become an associate youth minister, works 12 hour days on construction, has 3 little boys with a 4th on the way, stopped by to talked to me, and I fed him Kool-Aid, chocolate,and red velvet cake. He smiled as he left and said, 'I'll go home feeling much better today.' That's just sweet.

            well this what happen today now can someone tell i get a FREE PASS TO JUST THROW MY HANDS UP AND JUST SAY FUCK IT PLEASE ... you tell them you are not license over the phone and so you go there and then talk and more talk ... they tell you what they need done you give them the best prices for doing three light repair .. they jump at it and say when can you start and i say tomorrow OK so you take more measurement for the rest of what they want done which is fencing and you say ill have to get back to you on that exterminate .. and you leave and get three miles down from the job and get a phone call oh your not license sorry we want a licecse contractor ... now that was a waste of my time and gas

                Breathe, baby bro. We both know people are idiots. As soon as I get a sec I'm gonna make you a form to send them, which will tell them you WILL charge them an X amount fee for physical estimates if they don't choose you. BUT, remember, it only takes one of them to turn you in to your local authorities. It's always a gamble. Like I've said before, for the way you operate, you're in the worst part of the States. So it becomes a choice for you. Live within the legal qualifications, or find another place, in this economy. You know I love you, but these are realities. It's hard to fight City Hall.

                    Mama Bear, how could *I ever forget you? I AM SO SORRY! I love you so much and praying for you to get that official hiring and the med works well for you. Roger, I am so sorry for all the bs you went through today. Maybe you should tell them up front on the phone that you are not a luicensed contractor before you meet with them? Ruby, I have not gotten a ticket yet and the spring does look alot better for me, although I HATE that you are going to have to be alone on your birthday! We won't forget you though. I love you all so much. I am so tired and so sore that I am about to take a hotbath and get ready for bed. No more work for me today. I'm whooped... Love you ALL, Vicki

                        SEE THATS THE THING I TOLD THEM OVER THE PHONE... REALLY I TELL EVERYONE FIRST OFF OVER THE PHONE AND THEN ASKK WHAT THEY NEED DONE sorry caps and if i think they need a permit or any such thing .. i tell them and lay it out what they need to know ... like i said im too honest ..im not out here to screw anyone ... just to make an honest buck

                          Oh, what a day! Don't ya'll worry about me - like I said, this has happened for so long, it's not important in the overall scope of things. Besides, would I want to celebrate getting older? :H
                          T, I know how honest you are, but you are not in the part of the world where a handshake works anymore. There aren't a lot, but you certainly aren't there. All their licenses, contracts, promises, mean nothing, I know. (I've built houses on handshakes, believe me, and had people become upset when I asked for the paperwork), but its in places where everyone knows each other. It's a vanishing part of our belief system, and very unfortunate.
                          Vick, I don't know whether to beat you or kiss you for the thread you posted about me! I choose kiss, since I've reconnected with people I brought in from the cold 2 years ago, just with a kind word. You are a treasure, love. QUIT working so hard, I command it!!!

                                Hi there everyone. Just wanted to say sorry you are cross Ruby - or disappointed really, not cross as such - and sorry too Rog that you are being given the run around. Jan - hope that the Ant is sitting well with you. Vicki - feel better each and every day. Bird - hate that you are still having the itching! That is enough to drive anyone crazy. And no Vicki I am not painting today but was last week. Didn't feel like painting today. Do have to carry on with it though and being up and down the ladder is no problem, trust me. Panno - laughed at your pictures!! Just finished 2 1/2 hours of ironing, am going to get dog and me sorted and go to bed early.
