First Halloween minor casualty for us this year. My son, who is a volunteer firefighter, went to the station party last night dressed up as a zombie. He used rubber cement to afix his mask and came out of it with a chemical burn on his face. He gave himself a free chemical peel. But at least he was at a fire station! I didn't laugh when I was on the phone with him, but it's hard to keep from smiling. What a goofy thing to do. He did a better one when he was in high school. He'd put on fake nails (I think he was Dracula that year) and was soaking them in nail polish remover to get them off, while smoking a cigarette. You can probably imagine what happened.
I'm hoping today will be less eventful.* * *

The fake nails things was about 15 years ago though, when he was an unthinking teenager (aren't they all?). He got some minor burns, but my carpet got the worst of it. I figure that my grandson will even out his karma, LOL.
This time he knew that rubber cement was made with latex and figured it would be okay. And it was, for a minute or two - then he couldn't get the rubber cement off.* * *

Trap - I am so pleased that your wife knows - once she is over the fact that you have been lying to her, I am sure that she will calm down. She has to realise this isn't easy - it is a REALLY hard thing to do. It isn't just something that you can decide to stop and just flip a switch - it is an ADDICTION. I think you have been doing SO well to do what you have done so far. My hubs lied to me about his drinking too - and I really felt for him because he felt that he had to. You will both have to work at this. Things will get better. Baby steps. I know that you want it all done and done with - it will come. Hugs to you for now. Vent to us all you want. Hang in there!

hey guys....
pity party almost over...spent the day whining and moping and complaining and am making Papa crazy. I finally got up and did some vacumming.
Question - I chew ice like a crazy. I know, I know...it's terrible for me.
But just a minute ago I crunched a big piece and now the whole room is spinning. I ran and got Papa cause it scared me, but I am not one of his favorite people right now.
