    A few things

Last night was one of those nights where things just came along at the right time. I was at a work meeting, and we had a presentation by the Tobacco Prevention Settlement Program, and it was basically an overview of smoking related trash at public beaches and parks. Something about the presentation just really drove home the fact that I quit smoking 10 days ago!

Then I went home and watched a movie I borrowed from the Library. I was the story of Bill W. and how he founded AA. It really showed the details of his life, his struggle, and how his wife really stuck by him...and mostly his committment to helping other drunks. It was a really good movie (older, not sure what year). What I loved too was that his wife didn't take any sh*t from him! When he tried to turn things on her or blame her (as alcoholics do), she set his ass straight

So I went to bed feeling a new resolve about my decision to be AF and NF!

Oh and by the way, today is day 30 since my "slip".
:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

K9 Lover-I am so proud of you for quitting both habits. I have been AF for 13 months, but have yet to kick the nicotine habit even though I absolutely hate it. I'm going to stick close by this thread and re-visit Oney's thread. You are an inspiration!!!

                    Hi Rebirth!
Yes these last 30 days seemed to fly by!!! A LOT faster than my original 30 days did...
As far as smoking, it's been easier than I thought...or maybe that's the key, I'm just not THINKING about it!!! I'm also saving $2.25 a day (literally, I'm putting in an envelope). I got tired of seeing my money go up in flames.
One time 3 years ago I quit for 18 days, so I haven't broken any personal records yet, but I'm heading there

                      A few things

Congrats on both the AF 30 and the quitting smoking!

It's funny: Lighting a stick on fire, putting it in your mouth and inhaling the fumes surely sounds like a bad idea. Intellectually I get it. The addict in me does not.

I think the movie was "My Name is Bill W." and it had James Wood and James Gardiner in it. I really enjoyed seeing how the whole AA idea came about. This struggle is SO much easier when you know you are not alone.
