    I am not going to drink today.

    I'm new here - just started posting the other day.
    Today I'm AF for 7 days - I've not been AF for 7 days in the past 15 years.
    I'm not going to drink today - cause tomorrow I want to be AF for 8 days.

    How's everyone doing ?
    Still overwhelmed by the support on MWO.

      I am not going to drink today.

      I am not going to drink today - and for the first time since July 2010, didn't drink yesterday either - I have finally broken that day 1 thing !! I feel SO relieved!

        These two threads are full of pure awesomeness............I think the "first days" of sobriety should be the most recognized......as it means we are taking actions to improve our lives, and those of others we know and love.


        Well done to all that are on day one.....or.......one thousand.

        I wont drink today, because I want to post in the "I didnt drink yesterday" thread tomorrow

              I am not going to drink today - why would I ever want to get back into that agonizing rut?! I'm loving the way I feel and will not compromise it.

                    No drinking for me today-no way. I'm with Tips-no day one for me ever again!

                    Shoutout to Shelley-you go girl! It's a week now, stay strong!

                    I started a book last night about a drunk guy who went to rehab for 30 days, got out, went home to his family. Young guy,young wife, one year old child, nice house,Range Rover. Could not figure out what had happened to him.
                    Day 10 at home he left for an AA meeting and made a left instead of a right into a restaurant/bar
                    and got trashed. He then decided he didn't feel good enough and couldn't go home. He had heard in rehab that crack was good so he decided that would do the trick. He drove to a seedy part of town, picked up a dealer, got a bunch of crack and smoked it in a crummy motel room with the dealer and a couple of women-pretty much all night.

                    It's amazing how powerful addiction is. I could relate to driving near and then turning into the bar.
                    As if you have no will of your own.

                    SOOOO...........no drinks for me today!

                      I am not going to drink today.

                      No drinking from my at all today. Now I go bowl and go to karaoke sometimes but instead I do it sober, I have people who is supporting me and I know that they will make sure that I don't drink. I have done it so many times that I know that I can do it, but I am always on the alert since I don't want to get too cocky because I know where I would end up. No AL today sounds too good and I would like to spend tomorrow hangover free.
                      I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

                      Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

                      Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

                        Hi Unwasted - my post was the one above Nelz - LOL - today was the first day that I am saying I am not going to drink today - but I could have posted yesterday too! i will be posting tomorrow as well! I have finally CRACKED it! It feels awesome !!

                          Almost 8 pm, and no desire to drink. Do not want to wake up tommorow with direhea, severe headache, bloated all over...... plus as many times ive heard it the problems will still be there...

                            Not going to drink today. It's Friday and the evening's coming. Going to our favourite restaurant for sushi and will drink Saki (that is A/F isn't it?)
