        It is indeed a tragedy.

What an awful tragedy, my heart goes out to the families of those poor miners. So many people saying goodbye to loved ones just going to do a days work but never to return is unthinkable.

It is absolutely right that there were blokes from all over the world in that mine. My heart-felt thoughts and love to their families who are not able to bury them on their own soil, as well as the families from here. The whole of NZ will be with them in their hearts.

It's just so difficult to really grasp the magnitude of suffering from this tragedy. It's like the ripples in a pond. I wonder if the sorrow of the world and prayers on their behalf are any comfort to those left behind.
                          I hope so.

well, I'll break the ice after that crap and somber news .....

firstly, lovely to have international solidarity!! It has been an very emotional afternoon (and week) here and the messages and practical have flowed in from other governments, international organisations and elsewhere have been amazing. I say this having some remote work and family connections to what has been going on - but this is a small country and remote is quite close sometimes.

Choice - dont get lost in the fact that there have been other things going on! Keep posting on here and we look forward to seeing more of you!! Hop you found an AA meeting that works for you! Have you moved to NZ recently??

Sapp = that sucks! In your spirit of sending of free workouts, I can provide you with CV advice!! My B has had lots of knock-backs in the past two years as being "over-qualified" and it totally makes no sense - particularly as he works in an occupation that we have national skills shortages for!!! I have lots of arguments about how it is just a stupid decision to reject prospective candidates as being "too old" (ie; over 50) or "too experienced" (ie; has been a supervisor and team leader)

Beagle and Mish - hope you enjoy your spa and wish I could join you!!!! :goodjob:

Have run out of steam - have been a bit glued to the news tonight ......
