Amazing. And heartbreaking. You are a very brave person and I admire your strength. Day 5 for me and I think I may just write that letter as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.February 27th, 2013. A New , Successful Start. :h

ps I'm a writer so I may have to copyright you at some point
I actually sent a PM to another member to tell them to read your letter and told them that you're a very good writer and that I love the way you express yourself. And that was almost an hour ago, before you posted the above about you being a writer. You are very talented. Don't ever let AL or anyone/anything bury that talent again.
Best of luck in your AF journey and thank you for sharing this with us. It is indeed something that we need to read over once in a while to remind ourselves.
Again, thank you.

Wagon and Stirly, thank you again for your kind words. Wagon, thanks for saying I'm brave -I don't often feel like itStirly, thanks for your encouragement. I've had a few poems published and used to be a Reporter and News Correspondent in the past - I probably need to get back to writing to fulfill me. Got a book which I haven't finished....X

K - thank you for your compliment to me. Gosh, I've never felt like you hide - in fact it seems to me that you post a lot. And, more importantly, what you post is really substantive.
I understand when people have to come and go from the site - whether it's because of time constraints or just needing not to focus on their drinking to this degree. I read a post recently by someone who had been writing quite a bit and said she now needed to move away and not visit so often because some of the posts were actually making her want to drink (I'm paraphrasing but it was something to that effect). So, I guess everyone has good reason for how involved with the site they choose to be. For me, at least at this stage, it's extremely helpful to spend a lot of time here.
Thanks again for your contributions!

Just wanted to thank you for sharing this amazing letter Kimberley. It was a bit haunting but inspiring too. While I have not been to the bad place that you have I appreciate the stark reminder that I could just as easily go there as anyone and that is why I am here. I hope your letter serves as a reminder of that to anyone else who hasn't been there and not as a gauge that they aren't that bad. Honestly I have looked at it that way at times. Thanks for again for sharing it. I'm took the time to read it through and wish the very best finding your way out!

Oney that's lovely of you , thanks- I think I will get writing again. Need to be more disciplined with that.
Chooch, I have been a member for a few years but I rarely get into conversations. Usually my posts are either asking for help when I'm having a difficult time or just popping in to see how others are doing and giving suggestions. So I feel like I'm not as involved as most.
Gotta run as my cat is cowering under the duvet, bless her - fireworks have started.
Happy Bonfire Night everyone,
