Hey Trap,
You can do this. Just think of that little guy you are picking up at preschool!
Anxiety is a huge trigger early on so I would also recommend the ativan. Just be careful that it doesn't become a new addiction.
My choice of af drinks changes but I love water with lemon to clear out toxins, seltzer water with juice (especially cranberry), hot teas, lemonade, ice tea, etc. Keep yourself hydrated. Vitamins and minerals also very important because drinking really does make us deficient nutritionally.
Oh yes, early on I was afraid to be alone because I thought I would drink. Maybe you should try getting yourself to bed earlier. The ativan may help with that. Do not drink and take ativan though. It is a deadly combination. I speak from experience!
What was also helpful early on for me was to establish a routine and structure in my life. I work for myself and make my own hours. I also work out of my home most days. This can be deadly and proved to be because I could drink anytime I wanted to. Early on, I would take take my computer and cell phone to a coffee shop and do business there. And for days I wasn't working, I would plan the night before what I was going to do, i.e., work out, run x,y,z, errands, have lunch with so and so, pick up kids at school, etc. It really helped. Idle time is not good for us as you well know. But when you first stop drinking, you will find that you have lots of idle time. You will be amazed at how much time was taken up by planning and imbibing in drinking.
Go for it.
