Hi all
Ha that is funny. Sun is fanny for male or female or both? Rubes did the bug come out? What was it? Guess everyone is cooking. I made a crockpot full of black beans the other day and still eating them. Been really busy Fri had a kid spend the night and took them all to mall out of town they all had a bit of money. Then yesterday got them all up early and took to town about 1 hour away for Veterans day ceremony with marine band concert was really nice and then went to park for picnic and play and the river. Then off to music store 1 needed drumsticks and mall books a million had big sale then another music store and goodwill then back home and was so tired. Also only spent 4$ through the whole thing cuz I took food with us and spent the 4 at books..I'll post a pic got some good shots...b

I am planning on cooking today too - I was looking through the recipes on here and saw a couple that I want to try, plus some cupcakes that I love too, so plan on being busy - AND I have a mountain of ironing to do too.

Ruby, ewwww about the bug in your ear. Any time a fly or mosquito buzzes by my ears, I get a flashback of that old Star Trek episode about earwigs. Freaky!

Hi Panno, tirgs (thanks for the new thread!), and RC (hope you're home now) and everyone else.

Things are going okay here. The chili was a new recipe that included brewed coffee, baking cocoa and other unusual ingredients. It was surprisingly sweet, but in a good way. It made a ton though, so I'm going to freeze some of it.

I called my son last night because, for the last couple days, I've wanted to cry every time I thought of the situation. He assured me that we were all good, that he understood, and asked when we were going to come visit them. Haven't bought a CO monitor because there's nothing we could do about it anyway. We are drowning financially, still haven't paid property taxes for this year, our credit sucks, so I'd just as soon not know. We keep the furnace heat minimal and use space heaters, and I feel waaaay better.

Good news on the financial front though. We bought a brand new, fully loaded, Jeep Grand Cherokee right before the economy took a dump and we lost a lot of income. The payments have just been killing us. My husband took it back to the dealership yesterday and asked if they would buy it back for what we owe on it (we put a big down payment on it). They'll do better than that! At the very least, they'll give us three grand above what we owe, and we'll be out from under the payment that is CRUSHING us. I'm not sure how we'll function with just one car, but we did it for years - with two small children. Surely we can do it now.

Edited to add: Bird, I really enjoyed the pics. It looks warm and sunny. I'm envious because we're sunny and cold as a witch's ____. You reminded me that I need to get going on the book I've been trying to get into. It's length is a bit intimidating. But $4 on books is a heck of a bargain!

Great news Tracy..it really is amazing what can be done if you just ask. My doctor has been giving me samples of my anti depressants for over a year since she knows I have no health insurance.

Hubs and I had a long talk last night and we have decided to sell our beloved house after Christmas if employment scene does not change. It breaks my heart, but it makes no sense since the payment and the power bill are killing us. Zach I will be calling you to talk me through a short sale or something. BUT..I refuse to think about it until after the holidays.
BTW....I applied for a GREAT job with the federal govt managing the HUD office in Jacksonville.....it will be awhile before they decide, but I am a perfect fit and the pay os fabulous.
Bird...you amaze me with your money management.
I have quit counting days after all the silliness yesterday......enough said on that subject.

sorry to hear that topsy but times are tough everywhere now and so glad you were able to get somewhat ahead of the game ... just hang in there girl ... mama crossing my fingers, legs,arms and eyes for you girl .. i have a good feeling things will turn around for everyone in the next few months and hoping nothing more then the best for next year to come out smelling like roses ... change is in the air ..so lets do our best to make it the best way we can ...

Jan - you have a bug WHERE ??????????????? I am not even touching that one - well not not touching it - not going there - oh hells bells you know what I mean! Jobs like the Govt one take forever to sort out, but here's hoping Jan!! Yes Rog, I do iron jeans, and t-shirts too! LOL - love what you use your irons for though. I need to go and get doing something or nothing will get done (don't you just LOVE my words of wisdom??). I have been on the phone since I last posted - tried calling Swannie - no answer - then usual Sunday calls to mum and BOB (Big Old Brother). Back later - Get Up Everybody else!!
