Hi Everyone, due to my recent drinking period I have managed to make my liver fail again, I have jaundice(yellow eyes and body). I had urgent blood tests yesterday and should have the results tomorrow. Today is my day 2 AF, I am very scared somebody please respond. Please take this as a warning as to what alcohol can do, if you dont hear from me for a while it s because I will be in hospital,cant get rehab here for 6-8 mths which is to long for me

Liver disease

Whitestar, I'm so sorry for your news. It must be terribly frightening, but it sounds like you're taking the proper steps now.

I have this information about alcoholic liver disease from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The liver is resilient and there are a number of therapies available to you, as you'll see from this printout. I encourage you to take it to your doctor because some of them include emerging or alternative medicine. (Other patients have told me the treatments were unfamiliar to their health care providers.) However, The National Institutes of Health, who published it, is held in high regard.

Doc has speeded through blood tests and its not looking too good,she has phoned my consoltant and I will have more tests on Monday and see him early next week. She has allowed me to stay out of hospital because I have been here before in 2003,and know what danger signs to look out for,I also have a very good friend who is a great help.there is talk of a transplant in 6 mths if I am lucky. Going to read from the bible now thanks for all your suporrt
