KTAB, I've never tried that roasted garlic but I've seen it on TV.
The mushroom burger recipe is mine. I use portobello mushrooms cause their large and firm and can be grated easily. I always peel them, then put them stem-side down on the grater. The size of grater is about 1/4 inch size holes. The size you would use to grate onions. For four three-inch burgers, I use three large mushrooms, one egg or two egg-whites and about 1/4 cup of rolled oats. I fry them in EVOO but you have to cook them at med-low on one side til they "set" and then flip them over or they will fall to pieces. Even then the first flip is tricky. If they come apart, just push the pieces back together and continue to cook until the mushrooms have given up their moisture which is absorbed by the oats and in the end, along with the egg, they all stick together...
Thanks a lot for taking the time to type all that out, sounds really lovely. I have pasted it and will give it a try at the weekend. What way do you serve them and what with? Those large portabello mushrooms, as we call them here have tons of flavour.

Stirly's double-cheese bacon burgers. (You can skip the bacon) With sliced tomato and pink onion, BBQ sauce, mayo and mustard. The cheese is fat-reduced gouda (to make up for the bacon) And don't forget to slice the buns and toast the insides before "building" the burgers. A nice batch of oven fries and you've got a great meal.

Enjoy Stirly. Think I will have an early night soon and watch somefink on my mac while tucked up in the bed and hear the rain pounding against the window. Weather is horrendous here still. One of the fellow inmates just came in to ask me to help, the rain is getting in.

Shocking news alright, in two separate incidents, two women and two children stabbed to death in one and in the other two kids were murdered in their home then shortly after their father was killed as his car hit a tree.
