    Good morning, Army

    It really is winds-day in Cape Town today. An no: I'm not referring to the usual tales of farting we find on this illustrious thread. The South-Easter (also called the Cape Doctor because it blows away all traces of foul air) is howling today.

    Under conditions like these, it is too dangerous for the cable cars to go up Table Mountain or ferries to make the run across to Robben Island. Cape Point will be uncomfortable, to put it mildly. Poor tourists - we're awash in them this time of year. At least they'll be treated to some interesting sights. There are women in Cape Town who have not yet learnt that short skirts and strong winds do not work well together

    Anyhooo... I have an interesting day ahead of me. I hope it turns out well

            Nope, today and tomorrow off. Daughter going back to Canada tomorrow. I'm feeling ok about it though cos she is so happy. Her boyfriend was a bit of a kid when they went over - bit of a gobshite (boy,male - need I go on!) but he's really grown up away from his mammy and he is very good to her.

              Awwhhh that is very comforting to know......I am dreading that part of my life to be honest, I just hope all my kids find someone who will be good to them....have a bit to go tho

              Hope you have a lovely day today with your daughter and when she goes back, we can start the countdown to your trip. I bet she is going back VERY happy very proud of her lovely sober Mammy.

                Yep all is good, think I'll have a snooze before she emerges from her pit - I suspect Penneys etc are going to be raided by her (with my purse) today!

                      Morning Stirly, she's in Toronto - the boyfriend has family over there, and they have a construction company so he has work coming out his ears, and she has 2 jobs - happy days, better than Ireland at the moment anyhows!!

                            Good morning guys

                            Pouring with rain here today but it's quite nice for a change although the dog doesn't seem to agree and is hiding under the table instead of sitting at the door waiting for her walk
