Sick
I was sick yesterday (read: hungover). No excuses, no real triggers. It is what it is. I took my Antabuse this morning. The worst part is coming on here and feeling like a "fraud".:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

good job for taking the antabuse
I have to , as well, cause I am no where near out of the woods yet....
Did you just miss it? Maybe that's a trigger....I know I miss it too...we have to get rid of that Stikin Thinkin and get used to the fact that we cannot drink again...ever
I applaud your bravery at admitting this......PM me if you want to talkI love my family more than alcohol.:h

Thanks Mama.
I know others have their opinions on how to "count"...but the fact is, I still have 229 AF days in the year 2010. Maybe that's what will bother people.
All I know is I'm sticking to the Antabuse from now on, until I get a WHOLE YEAR AF!
Love ya Mama :h:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Just stick with the antabuse for now. Get some of your AF time rolling again and then you can better see what's been triggering this. FRAUD? Come on Nine, NO WAY. This IS a site for issues like you're experiencing. This isn't a freaking contest. Now take care of yourself, be good to yourself. I'm here for you 110%! John is right, K9. This isn't a contest.
This is about our health, happiness and wanting to change!
Some people may have strong 'opinions' about what they feel is the 'right' way to approach drinking, slips, etc... personally I think those who judge should keep their opinions and egos to themselves. I would have to say that 99% of us really struggle before finding a groove that works for us.
No one, including you, should ever feel 'embarrassed', or like a 'fraud' because you made a choice to drink. This site is not about making people feel bad. We have a horrible, horrible, addiction...... we need to stand by one another and be supportive.
Hang in there. Keep trying.

K9 Sometimes people who have had a slip/relapse/drank again, are ashamed of themselves-sometimes so ashamed that they fear to come back here.
They develop the old inferiority complex and tell themselves that they are no good, that they have let down there friends here and elsewhere, that they are hopeless & that they can never make it,This state of mind is perhaps worse than it was originally intended,They have been somewhat weakened by there slip, but there experience of logging on here is not entirely lost. They always know that they can stop again if they really want to,they know that there is still great help & advice here if they will ask for it because nobody entirely escapes temptation,You must expect it and be ready for it when it comes,You must try & keep your defences up by positive thoughts, the first step toward conquering temptation always is to see it in your mind, dissociate yourself from it,put it out of your mind as soon as it appears,do not think of excuses for yielding to it,come here for help.__________________And by the way i dont think nor have i seen any other person calling other people frauds here, There are people who really want to stop drinking and there are people who dont, the people who want to stop always get support & good advice.:-)

Thank you everyone. I never meant to imply that any of you would call me a fraud...that was just how I felt for a moment, but I know deep down it's not true. I am struggling like everyone else is. Thank you all for the support.:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Hi K9, I felt the same way just last week and I felt horrible. I really don't think anyone is in any position to judge anyone here, we really beat ourselves up enough without others jumping on the bandwagon too. Just dust yourself off and continue on, and it's great you went back on your Antabuse to help you out.
All the best,

Hi K9, I am glad to hear that you have renewed your antabuse since that have helped you in the past. Fraud is not a term that I would ever think of applying to you. Clearly you do not take these episodes lightly! Besides, you answer to only you and your daughter, we are only your support system!
Perhaps reading through the Toolbox thread will help, maybe figuring out other lifestyle changes that might strengthen your resolve? Whatever works for you! The road to sobriety is a complicated process and we know that putting down the alcohol is but one step on that road.
Here's to your success and happiness!
