    Army Thread 26 November

Hope they can make it okay.
I was just looking at a map of the UK. I didn't realize how far north you live Jackie. No wonder it's cold and snowy there. The latitude line for your town is 10 degrees farther north than my home town in Canada. (useless info for the day)

Am outta here. Should have been some time ago. Lovely talking to you all. Catch up with youz laterz...

      GOOD MORNING FRIENDS

Well, quite the wake up call this morning! The visions of giant schlongs banging on the table (thanks Oney) was finally replaced by the beautiful little faces of those babies (thanks JC!!) lol!!

Day 26 here for me and I made it through Thanksgiving wth not one issue. My brother in law brought two bottles of wine and by the end of the night I had packed up leftovers and both bottles (one almost gone by him) in his leftover bag. AND I DIDN'T HAVE ONE URGE TO DRINK! Well they stayed about 4 hours longer than I wanted them to, which would drive anyone to drink....kidding Thanksgiving is a ginormous trigger for me, but it worked out. Plus I had to work my ass off the whole time since there was so many people here! My kitchen is just not big enough for help, so everything - cooking and cleaning - is all up to me. The food rocked and the family was great. The only hangover I have is from too much turkey and a cup of coffee which kept me up too late!!

Anyway, just popping in. We are decorating for Christmas today - tradition for us. We get REALLY in to it. I am so excited!! I refuse to go "Black Friday" shopping wth the throngs of Philly knuckleheads. It RUINS the holidays for me. Thank God for the internet. I loathe shopping.

Anyway, hope everyone is well! X X O O Kat

Hi Guys - my boss gave me the afternoon off and I went to an AA meeting!
Weird huh, havent been in months but had the sudden urge, there was this fellow Glasgwegian there who was one of the most inspirational people I have ever heard, wish I could have recorded him so I could listen again! He had lost his wife to AL and a son to drug addiction had been a wife/child abuser, gambler and full time loser until he got sober 15 yrs ago. Now he sponsors 15 other members and has made his lifelong work to help young people with addiction issues. He was amazing!! I guess thats why I had to go......

                      Excellent news!!!

Luca (the ginger cat) is home and the eye itself is undamaged. He has tablets (pain and antibiotics) and eyedrops (antibiotic) that we have to administer. He immediately headed for his food bowl, so I guess he's going to be OK!

And the bill wasn't even that high: ZAR800, inclusive of his little op, overnight hospital stay & meds. That is about the equivalent of a dinner for 4 at a fair restaurant, or 2 at a really good one. (I reckoned restaurant prices could be the MWO equivalent of the international Big Mac Index

                        Hiya troopers.

Glad your kitty is home and is well, Tips. You got a deal on the bill....

Actually, our vet charges very reasonable prices. She cleaned Freddie's teeth last year - it took her almost an hour to get all the plaque off. Of course she had to sedate him to do it and she only charged me 50 euro. She also did an operation on him a couple of years ago. The pet hospital near here had quoted me 500 euro for the same operation that she charged us 180 euro to do!!

HELLO ARMY!!! I was up bright and early this morning but the thread had not been started yet. Still have not tried to do it myself yet being the shy and computer challanged person that I am! So I had to race out the door this morning without getting to say hiya! Pretty good work day but busy-TGIF. IT's SNOWING! Really pretty but not sticking on the ground-just the cars and roof tops. Gotta run and get my little one from after school care and I'll be back. BRRR..better bundle up. Had a quick peek at some of the posts and saw stuff like penis things and cute babies so I've got to hurry back so I can catch up :H. Laters-expat xxx

Sorry, Zen. Didn't see you there. That second party doesn't sound like much fun. I wouldn't have taken Oney's night either, personally. Would have rather gone to a movie or something...

Yesterday you said something about your cat's head caving in. What did you mean....

Geez, I'm the queen of cross-posts tonight - hiya Expat...:wavin:

You will not be forgiven for not starting the thread next time

Mrs. T and the cubs have just booked seats to go and watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows tonight. Which means I can have sole custody of the TV remote for a change... if I could be arsed to watch anything.
