AF BOOT CAMP DAY 15 (Naughty By Nature)

    John,

Everyone is offering very sound advice and it seems clear to me that you have thought long and hard about this. I'm sure that you will make the right decision for you. In my opinion we only get one crack at this life and many of us on here have already squandered too many years in alcohol abuse. I'm aware you also had a health scare recently, I would say go with your gut instincts and what your heart tells you.

Enjoy today - there will be no other one quite like it....

Horribly caught up on manouvres SIR.

Jones thinks Sarge needs work/life balance SIR

Can't believe that Sarge is in his 50's. Bio age is probably 12 SIR
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Thanks Dewdrop. Yes, this decision has been on my mind for some time. Some of my peers think I'm crazy, saying I should work for another 10-15 years then do what you want. What are you going to do with yourself they ask. I dont need to ask myself that question. I have plenty of ideas and plans. Anyway, I dont want to dwell on this, but thought I would share my feelings which was a good thing. I feel better for putting it out there. Thank you again for responding...John

Dang it Jones what is wrong with 50's. I have a 15 year old daughter. I'm in better shape than some of my younger staff. I just feel emotional wrought over the fact that I wasted most of my 40's drinking after 9/11. I was competing in ironman and half ironman triathlons every two months, and was a racquetball/squash instructor in the evenings all before the shit hit the fan. NOW DON'T GET SARGE ALL WORKED UP JONES. I need YOU focused on YOU. Also, I need you to look in on Cooky. I think he may need reconstructive surgery. NOW MOVE OUT. BTW, thanks Jonsey.

Sarge, you're a legend sir. We all know that sir. But it's nice when you are bit fuzzy too sir

Asses are moving sir and can I just say that I did 120 press-ups this morning (not all in one go though!!) and only 60 of them were on my knees!!! And up to 90 seconds for a full plank!

Just making gazpacho for lunch ........

Sarge I have just spent the last ten minutes reading back and laughing my head off...just as well I dont have bladder problems..thanks for arsekin. Yep Sarge life aint no dress rehearsal...those collegues of yours are barking up the wrong tree IMHO. What is the point in getting to around 65, stressed out, burned out, not in great physical shape and then say..'well now I can start to live"...too late...your best years have disappeared behind the boardroom door. We cant put our life on hold for anything, especially not money. Waiting to exhale is foolish. You go Techie...more mountains to climb, rivers to cross, roads to run. Oh BTW have been nauseatingly piously, saintly with diet, exercise etc. I'm off to run about 10kms today (yeaaahhhh) first time in about 5 years I have had the stamina to get that far and it feels bloody awesome. I love my life SIR!!!!!!

Saffpy - my PT says I do perfect press-ups!! (its all the swimming - I have very strong shoulders!) Just not great on the aerobic stuff. At my age, I'm focusing on technique and not speed. Mainly I just really enjoy the fact that it is really good fun!

Yep Missy and the physical fitness helps to stave off a bit of the deterioration that al does to our bodies. All of that calcium/magnesium leaching takes the strength from our bones and muscles. A few years ago I could bench press 110kg. Lucky to be able to do 50 now, but I;m working on it. I wont let age or al weaken me. We are too tough for that caper!!!!:H:H:H

WOW, I'm impressed. I love strong shoulders. I am somewhat partial to nice clavicle's and sexy cheeks. BTW, press-ups (I call em push-ups) are a very good strength building exercise. You' re awesome Missy...NOW GET DOWN AND GIVE ME 100!!!

Saffy you seem to have more energy than most. I love your attitude and zest for life. BTW, how are your clavicles and cheeks? That Techie was hired by that Guitar fella to gather certain pertinent information.

Sarge I cant claim to have pronounced zygomatic arches like our Frog or Missy.....my cheeks are cherubic and rosy (baby-faced actually) which is o.k. by me cause it makes me look a hell of a lot younger than my age. I little bit of chub fills out the wrinkles. Clavicles are in good order, no breaks or arthritis....fact is I am extremely grateful to be in such good health after giving myself a bloody hiding for the last ten years. Tell that Techie to tell that G. Bloke to gather his own intelligence:H:H:H

Good evening Sarge...I've been AWOL as Private Beagle and I have been stuffing ouselves on Market-fresh mangoes and cherries (first of the season, Sarge) and Garlic Prawns/vegetables/salad.
Hard to believe you are in your 50s also Sarge. I envisaged you as much younger in my mind's eye.

you are in my mind's eye, this freakishly good lookin' fella in his 30's, whom i wouldn't mind for a toy boy given i have reasonable shoulders & & strong, clean clavicular line ( both sides).
Gotta fitball today sir, & Lt Saffy is gonna give me some shit-hot exercises to get me even firmer sir. In fact you may well be able to crack walnuts between my arse cheeks sir.
& you should cut yourself some slack sir, no disrespect intended.
