Underoos and Friends - December.....
Morning everyone,
It is with a very heavy sad heart that I write this. Yesterday the vet took all sorts of tests on Saffy and the news is not good. As well as spinal damage, she has bi-lateral cruciate ligament ruptures and extensive arthritis in both her knees. He said that she just woudnt recover from all the surgery. We have arranged for our famuly vet to come to the house this afternoon at 2.30pm to put her to sleep. I spent last night cuddled up to her in her usual spot (my bed) and she is sleeping beside me on the bed right now. I have to keep her sedated for the pain but when she comes to she is bright and happy to see me. My sons and sister and friends will see her off today. Last minute what if's are going round in my head right now.....could I get her one of those trolleys that she could scoot around on using her front legs....maybe the vet was wrong......maybe she doesnt want to go yet........It is absolute agony. You see apart from my family and close friends, I love this dog and have such an affinity and bond with her than any person. I have to find the courage to honour her and let her go.I am a part of the family of humanity. Not one person on this earth is a stranger to me. Rev. Ted Noffs

Oh Sapphy, I am so sad for you. I know how hard this will be, but at 2:30 I shall be thinking of you both and lighting a candle.
Think about keeping her with you overnight. I did that when I had to put my cat down, and we buried her the next morning. It really helped (even though some people thought it was a bit weird)

Good morning everyone,
Tawny, I guess your garden design of the future will include some swales?
Bridge, thanks for sending those news reports..... bastards. My heart goes out to the poor little koala. Just cannot understand our cruelty.
Mr G.. Thankyou for offering such a generous discount!
The rain has stopped for 3 minutes... I'm off to dig holes in the garden and gather the very very last of the mulberries.
Bridge, have you had a chance to drive up to Daleys nursery yet?
Weather : Was reading through the BOM website yesterday and this cycle looks like it is set in for 2 - 3 years..........

Ah geez Saph. I've just read this. I'm very saddenned to hear about Saffy. I had to make the same sort of decision with my old dog 3 years ago too. It's devastating.
Take care, and keep in touch with us here, ok?
