I hope this helps. On this site you can photo your mushrooms and send it to them for ID. Also has a huge database you can examine!

More blatant, shameless, mind altering substance peddling. I'll eat 'em either way. Send 'em over Frog.

If you're not familiar with it, it's well worth a listen.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Cheeses twice, what's going on here then? I ask for a comment on the fungal matter. Do the horticulturalists come in and opine? Nope. Do the great chefs offer their thoughts? Nah. But EVERY shroomhead pops out of the woodwork and wants to eat some.

And why is it that a high-flying corporate business type dude from NY is the only one to offer anything of use? I ask yers...

Thanks Techie - that site looks great and I'll get into it tonight. At the mo it's still brilliant - about 26C, sunny and I reckon I've got another couple of hours in me.

Either keep 'em pulled up or off. There is no middle way.

                    hello grundits howzit hangin'.
been reading back a bit & if you could please express-post me whatever it is that you're all on, it would be much appreciated.
Sapph: sorry 'bout your doggy but any improvement is good. Use some physio also : put a towel under her abdomen & bounce her lightly on her toes on a tactile surface such as grass - helps to stimulate proprioception. Also , move her legs around a lot. Take her outside as much as poss - stimulate her interest in her surroundings. Most dogs & cats hate the confines of rest & get bored & depressed. I take it she's on high dose cortisone?
Good if you've tried acupuncture but to be honest, all other naturopathic "treatments" for spinal issues are NOT affective. No amount of herbals or tinctures will restore nervous pathways. The ONLY things that work, in my experience (19 yrs) are cortisone daily or non-steroidals daily, acupuncture, physio & surgery. There, got that off my chest. I'm all for natural treatments, don't get me wrong, but one cannot afford to waste time using them INSTEAD of proven methods when spine & nerves are involved. Time is of the essence generally. Not that I'm saying you've wasted any time sapph, au contraire, you're doing everything right & i really hope improvement is continued.
Hmmm. Ok my soothing myself now....soothe...sooooooothe.....soooooooooooooooth e.
Got some photos of the slugs & the Trievy pup to send to bridge who may be kind enough to pop them up for me.
The "family" is a week old now & only seem to whinge, feed & sleep. Mum dog is very laid back & happy to leave them alone for hourse at a time to come walkies or out on the road.
Got some bad news on my health lately friends & will be having some surgery in the NY...fuck. But i will hopefully bounce back & further testing should clear me of any future probs. In the meantime, i'm on gentle exercise regimes.
Harvest is progressing rapidly. Our grain yield is 25% of what we need to break even. My little universe circles around on itself daily. I try to keep track of the days but it's quite difficult sometimes. Hubby & FIL both tired & dispirited & reading here really keeps me from getting too sucked into it - just. Had an amazing thunderstorm here overnight & cooler weather for the next few days provides a change.
So disjointed right now but jumbling around in a weird state is a daily hobby for me now - in fact i might lobby to make it an Olympic sport.
Will be back in later guys.
                    Best wishes to you all.

Arvo all, - nice post Beags.

Well, suddenly the brilliant sun disappeared behind an ominous black sky and thunder and lightning heralded the oncoming rain. Yep, it's pishing down and I'm caved up waiting for the authorised fridge fixer to arrive. He rang to say he was delayed due to having to attend an SES emergency. Yep, these rural lads are pretty good multi-taskers.

MrG's music stuff reminded me ... a 15-y-o I know recently wagged school. Thought he was safe as houses and wouldn't be sprung by the oldies who were both at work. He chose to spend the entire day, from 9-3, in a nice quiet residential street, practising his drums. A neighbour dobbed. They say drummers are a bit - erm ... how you say ... um ... "different" ...

Thanks for that info Beags. At present she is on Metcam; valium; and tramadol when needed. Initially she had cortisone injections followed by tablets for two days. She has trouble with steroids so the vet kept it to a minimum. She has the acupuncture every second day. The vets say that she is improving and her sensory pathways are re-opening. She still cant stand up but can take weight on her forarms(legs) and likes to stay prone most of the time. What do you reckon as a timeline for improvement. I wont hesitate to get on the boat and take her to the animal hospital in Melbourne is she doesnt improve. Thats a good idea about taking her outside supported by a towel etc. I will get onto that straight away. No good about your health issues!!! Does gentle exercise mean that you wont be able to get stuck into my G.I. Jane program? Would love to see photos of your puspsters. Love Saffxx

Beags mate, answering in reverse order!!

Glad the weather has changed. It must be a relief. It is very hard to deal with those external circumstances that are outside of our control. And those people whose moods and behaviour are outside out control.

Sorry to hear about the surgery - not sure I understood where you were having it?? Surely not in NY???? (Oh sorry, just realised it meant NEW YEAR :H:H) If you want to say what this is about then you know that you will get support for it but if you want to stay private that is fine too. I wish you all the best anyway.

You gave me great advice when Betty-puss was a cot-case. She is now bouncing around like a Tigger :H:H Think I will do the same thing with this SPCA cat - we've been advised to keep her in cage (its a big one but it is still a cage!!!!) for the next week, but I reckon she is bored and needs some stimulation.
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
