Rural Report for the day:

The Girls now cruise through the Froghouse at regular intervals throughout the day. The occasional contretemps is compensated for by their singing. They seem to like show tunes, esp. "Getting to Know You". (Bwaahg bwagh-bwagh-bwagh bwaaaaaaagh bwaaaaaagh ...)

More tall bearded white irises were lifted, divided and replanted for next summer.

Work has ceased on the Chinese Pistachio Grove, where 25 trees will now prosper and thrive in an aesthetic 9,7,9 grid rewarding all and sundry with a gob-smacking display of autumn foliage in about ten years time. If I've popped my clogs by then, somebody else can get their jollies. See? It's not allaboutme.com.au

Mower work continues to establish a Place of Last Resort in case the shit hits the fan during bushfire season. No sighings of browns, tigers or red-bellied blacks to date.

I know what you mean about the franchise stuff. But you know what I really want? A magic wand and an instant 'cure'. And not to actually give up drinking completely.

Realistically, I like having a drink BUT I hate being out of control and getting sick and what it's doing to my health. So, I still have a huge amount of learning to do.

That's why I come here to ask your opinion. Now I've had a few hours, I know I'm not going to call her.

A grand day here. Sunny, quite warm. Visited family and friend's, quite the social butterfly. A big fillup was that my sister in law asked me to have a chat with my 15 yr old nephew sometime, as he's been sneaking out of the house at night, etc....(i still do that when no-one's looking) What a lovely request. I'm chuffed cause Ol wayward uncle G is having some serious family trust bestowed upon him. This is very noice for a drunken uncle who has been a bit of the aloof mystery man to the family over the last 20 yrs. Will speak to my brother about what's going on.
