Yes. Send carpentry hand tools (not battery/ electric) new or sewcond hand to the school at the bottom of Mt Kiliminjaro.
Give me a couple of days to get an address for you.

I sent some more exercise books pencils rulers etc and some USD to the school at Kande. The address is coming in my next post... I have to download it.

There is also a school and "orphanage" for kids taken off the streets in another place... it is funded by Intrepid Tours. It is Amani Children's Home P.O. Box 6515 Moshi Tanzania. They have a website.

It's the villages and school;s that are not on the tourists routes that cop it rough.

evening all. I've had a lovely evening with my big sister ... the three of us got through half a bottle of sparkling peach flavored grape juice :H:H

Haven't had much time to read back, but hope all undies are kicking back. I'm really ready for it ..........

Rags - loved your African photos too. have some very similar ones from West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia) Seeing your ones was fabulous

and when I do read back, I'm sure I'll be throbbing at you all. Sort of goes with the season. Particularly as I'm listening to JAmes Taylor's Xmas album which is pretty sentimental :H

Wookie and Betty definitely send their throbs to you all, for having looked out for them all year. Betty wouldn't have got through broncho-pneumonia, broken pelvis, amputation, cat flu and being locked up somewhere for 5 days if it were not for the thoughts of people here. Neither would I have got through all the stuff I had to deal with in 2010.

I am so very grateful to you all, and looking forward to being much more of a pillar of strength in 2011!

Missy, I loved it and want to go back.. next time at a bit more leisurely pace and take heaps of clothes to give away.
I sent a pack of stuff to "Stan the Man" at Kande which included several different grades of sandpaper... Just hope he does the right thing and hands it out to the woodworkers.... but I get the feeling he'll sell it. But that's the chance you take I guess.
So when are we goingto see some of your Africa pics?

Hi Undies, thats so great you want to help Rags, hopefully what you send will get directly there. DW and I have been making a small monthly donation to help the kids since the late 80s to this charity. Getting the odd picture or letter sent from one of the children is so special.
